Erin is sharp as a tack and carries herself with an air of confidence that borders on cocky. She’s quick with a quip or a sly grin, always ready to turn a situation to her advantage with her sharp tongue. Despite her tough exterior, there’s a streak of mischief in her—she enjoys the thrill of the steal as much as the spoils. Erin is fiercely independent, trusting few people and relying solely on her abilities to get by.
Her sassy nature often gets her into trouble, but it’s also part of what makes her so good at what she does—she’s not afraid to take risks or challenge someone who underestimates her. Underneath her bravado, though, there’s a subtle vulnerability; growing up alone has left her with a deep-seated fear of attachment, and she’s built walls around her heart to protect herself.

Years ago, on a cold October evening in a small town in England, a young Irish woman, no older than 20, arrived at the town's orphanage, clutching a small baby close to her chest. The orphanage fortunately had room to take the baby in, but since the woman left the baby on the doorstep after a hard knock on the door, they knew nothing about her. All that accompanied the baby was a small photograph of a woman, presumably her mother, standing in front of a wooden sign that read “Ireland,” with a boat bearing an English flag in the background. With this scant information, the orphanage decided to name the girl Erin, derived from the Gaelic term "Éirinn," meaning "Ireland." Initially, she was not given a last name, but shortly after her first birthday, she began to grow thick red curls, prompting the nurses at the orphanage to grant her the last name Cassidy, meaning "descendant of the curly-haired one," as her curls closely resembled those of the woman in the photo.
Erin was a rambunctious child, always defying the rules and causing mischief. She never had ill intentions; she was simply bored and full of energy. As she grew older, she quickly realized that life in an orphanage was far from ideal, and she noticed that many people were far better off yet did nothing to share their wealth with those in need. It was then that she began stealing, with the initial goal of taking from the rich to help the less fortunate, much like Robin Hood. Her early thefts were small and intended to help feed the other children at the orphanage and ensure they had clothes that fit. However, as her confidence grew, so did her ambitions. She began stealing more frequently and targeting larger prizes.
Before long, Erin found herself entangled with a traveling group of thieves known as The Midnight Runners, which consisted of four other members. Unlike Erin, not all of them came from impoverished backgrounds; some simply enjoyed stealing for the thrill and keeping the spoils for themselves. After aging out of the orphanage, Erin came to consider this group her family and traveled across the country with them, gradually losing sight of the noble intentions that had first driven her to steal.
