    Aveline was a slave near Haiti before she was freed by a pirate captain. She was abused in terrible ways as a teenager. Later a pirate ship came to defeat her captors. It was a big bloodshed but she was free and was recruited to the crew of the ship, the Sapphire. Now she serves there as a first mate and she is almost the best at naval tactics among the crew.
