Rowan of Nightflame Forest

STRENGTHS:

• Nature's Harmony - Rowan knows everything about everyone who steps into Nightflame Forest, including their full names, darkest fears, and true intentions.
• Displacement - Within Nightflame Forest, Rowan can disappear behind trees and reappear in different places.
• Iron Token - Rowan can pull out one of their iron teeth to shape into a coin. Anyone who holds the token can have a private, whispered conversation with Rowan.
• Iron Claws - Rowan's claws are made of iron, which can function as dangerous weaponry (especially to fae creatures.)
• Emotional Support Familiar - By utilizing the use of a summoning ritual, Rowan has obtained an ally in the form of a magical animal companion. Omen, taking the form of a black hare, can hide or quickly move around the forest by melting into shadows and traveling through them. She also serves as company when Rowan doesn't have visitors present.

WEAKNESSES:

• Out of their Element - Rowan can only learn about people within Nightflame Forest. If they venture outside of their territory, they completely lose this ability until they return home.
• Unidentified - Rowan's family and origins are completely unknown, even to themself. Their current name was not one they had originally, and was instead given to them by a Nightflame Academy student they consider a friend.
• Touch Averse - Rowan hates being touched. They especially hate the idea of their mask being touched, and they will respond violently to anyone who tries to remove the mask.
• Cynophobia - Rowan is deeply afraid of dogs. To be fair, this is mostly because dogs are scared of Rowan. They either freeze or disappear if they hear a dog barking, let alone if one tries to bite them.

Rowan looks tall by human standards, dressed in greens and browns and pale yellows. The clothing is old and torn, a green tunic with brown tights and a cloak littered in holes. Long, matted blond hair falls to their waist and is full of twigs and leaves.

Their limbs are warped, like someone had grabbed their arms and legs and stretched them out. Their eye color is unknown, replaced by the empty stare of a caracal's face stuck to their own to be used as a mask. The holes for the eyes and the cheeks of said mask are tainted red with blood.

Rowan has grown up far away from the company of other people, and it shows by how skittish they are. They rely heavily on their ability to know the intentions of those that visit Nightflame Forest, and that knowledge can make them a loyal friend or a frightening enemy.

They aren't particularly sure what to do in social interactions most of the time, but if any of their friends are in danger and they come to Rowan they'll do their best to put a stop to whatever is threatening their safety.

Rowan is often quiet, especially when people-watching as students of Nightflame Academy or simply those wanting to hike pass through. But in rare cases where someone without poor intentions tries to speak to them, they will speak back.

Enemies of Rowan, however, get a side to them as rarely seen as their interaction with friends. If someone tries to kill them or touch their mask, Rowan immediately responds with hostility. Often ending in the unfortunate victim dead. Rowan has more patience with children who don't know better, however, this reaction is normally reserved for adults.
