Prin ti Demsiri

Born amidst the arid plains of Kyrenaice, the city-state nestled in the southern reaches of the Acacus, Prin's story began with tragedy and an air of mystery. His mother, Imarin, was the daughter of Demsiri, a renowned merchant in Kyrenaice, and his father, Adalsen, a blacksmith from Shez'ra to the north. Though Adalsen loved Imarin beyond measure, a dark twist of fate denied him the right to take her as his wife. In a furious clash with Imarin’s father, he killed the merchant, enslaving both Imarin and her mother. As a gesture of bittersweet mercy, Adalsen freed Imarin’s mother, sending her to Arcadia, but he bound Imarin to his own household, an arrangement as complicated as it was fraught.

Though she was his slave in the eyes of others, Imarin was a beloved consort in Adalsen’s heart, and the two shared a love intense enough to defy the bonds of slavery. Their union brought forth a child, Prin, who entered the world at the tragic cost of his mother’s life. Stricken by grief and bitterness, Adalsen gave the motherless child freedom but shunned him, deeming him a curse who had taken away his beloved Imarin.

Adalsen left Prin in the care of Erin, a kind-hearted servant who had lost her own child to illness. Erin grew to love the boy as her own and raised him in his father’s household in Shez'ra, hoping to fill the void left by his mother’s passing. Yet familial pressures gnawed at Adalsen, urging him to cast away the son he resented. Eventually, blaming Prin for Imarin's death, Adalsen arranged for Erin to take the boy to Arcadia, hoping they could locate Imarin’s mother. Tragically, they arrived only to learn she had died not a year before, killed in a street accident.

Despite Erin’s nurturing care until her dying day, Prin was thrust into the harsh life of Arcadia's streets. He learned to fend for himself, honing skills in deception, agility, and charm to survive. His natural talent for gaining others' trust before extorting or swindling them became his shield and sword. Over time, his dexterity, wit, and nimbleness earned him a reputation as a streetwise prodigy, evading capture and thriving under the noses of those who sought to control him.

Street Life and Training

Prin’s life on the streets led him to a band of other homeless children with whom he shared food and camaraderie. They came to trust him, eventually naming him their leader. This street family became his only refuge, a rough but loyal support network that mirrored the trust and bond he had never found among his own blood.

In Arcadia's labyrinthine alleys and marketplaces, Prin cultivated an art of movement that became his defining skill. His techniques involved vaulting, swinging, and leaping across rooftops and scaling walls with a speed and precision that amazed those who saw him. Prin turned evasion into an art form, escaping pursuers with well-timed jumps and rolls, or a deft vault over obstacles thought insurmountable. The townsfolk would sometimes watch in awe as he eluded guards by running up high walls, using footholds only he could reach, or twisting mid-air to cling to ledges where others would falter.

His athletic ability and connection with the people became his greatest assets, allowing him to sidestep imprisonment multiple times. He knew the streets better than any guards, slipping away into the shadows whenever they grew too close. His feats became legendary, and soon, tales spread of the boy who danced through Arcadia’s skyline, a ghost on the rooftops, forever a step ahead.



Life as an Outlaw

The rise of Abu Said Uthmann as Amir of the Rash’ani brought oppression that soon became the new norm. Prin, defiant as ever, took on a role as a rogue and eventual outlaw, whispered to be willing to kill for the right price and rumored to have no scruples. His unyielding nature and keen survival instincts made him a prime target for the Amir's forces.

In time, Prin became a figure feared by the authorities and revered by those who admired his independence. Kyrenaice, his mother’s homeland, and Shez'ra, his father’s city, offered no sanctuary, and so he continued to carve out his life as an elusive rogue in Arcadia. Every day offered a chance to outwit, evade, and outlast the forces against him, always with one eye on the marketplace for another opportunity.

Prin's life now revolves around these constant pursuits, each leap across a rooftop or climb up a wall a testament to his hard-won skills. Even on quieter days, when he dusts himself off after another close escape, his mind turns to tomorrow's risks and rewards.
