To most, the supernatural is merely a tale. No one would truly believe that things go bump in the night, and that old wive's tales had any truth to them at all. Problem is, most of the tales are steeped in truth.

Kaiden was born to a family that seemed regular on all appearances. They lived in the suburbs, in the perfect house with a white picket fence in their front yard. Kaiden had been raised fairly, but strictly, and rarely ever wanted for anything. Once he hit the age of thirteen, things began to spiral out of control.

He'd never been one to take any bullying, and one morning on the bus to school, Kaiden found himself in a verbal tussle with an older football player. It seemed Kaiden had taken his seat and wasn't willing to give it back. Kaiden watched the boy smack his gum, and hissed out, "I hope you choke on that gum." That was all it took, and Kaiden's life changed forever.

Accusations flung after the boy actually choked, and was rushed to the hospital after a botched attempt at the heimlich maneuver. No one was ever to legtimately place blame on Kaiden, but the damage was down with his classmates. His reputation took a dive, and he quickly took to the darker persona.

It wasn't until Kaiden became so frustrated with homework at the dining room table that he finally learned the truth. His outburst and subsequent anger sparked an outburst of magic that shattered the dishes in the nearby hutch. His parents couldn't ignore the truth any longer: Their little boy was part of their ancient warlock bloodline.
