Kurash Wyrmsplitter

Kurash is realtively small for an orc. He's no taller than six feet and while still muscular has a tapered build and isn't particularly broad. The orc's skin is a light stone grey, and bears countless scars across it's surface of various types. Most prominent is the large diagonial scar across his left cheek and thin lips.

His face was beautiful, in the same way a craggy valley glimpsed through morning mist was beautiful. His features were angular, severe and fierce, having more than a bit of the animal about them. His large orange eyes blazed in his bald head, framed by two small pointed ears.

Though friendly and kind to a fault he smiled rarely, concealing the savage sharp teeth meant for tearing flesh. When he spoke the common tongue it was with something of a lisping quality, mouth forming the human words it was ill suited to speak.

Like many orcs he was a scavanger, attire a mix of armored plates and fur cloak cobbled together from whatever bits he had found. Improved in the typical orcish fashion with checkerboard patterns and various trophies taken from formidiable prey. The helm of his patchwork attire was a gleaming silver knight's helm with a metal spike fused to it's top. A pair of large axes were never far from his waist, though he seemed far from eager to make use of them.

Kurash is someone forced into violence often, but who has no love for it. Anyone who bothered to look beyond his frightening exterior would notice the care with which he moves, never shoving those he passes aside or carelessly using his size to dominate the space he inhabits. Kurash is a gentle and kind soul, more interested in helping people than gathering gold or glory.

He can be too trusting a times, especially considering the general dislike and prejudice he tends to face as an orc. But he refuses to be cynical or lower himself to the same sort of unreasoning hatred. Most often he meets conflict by simply shrugging his shoulders and moving on, far more likely to defend others with his warrior's prowess than himself.

While possesed of an obvious dignity and cleverness he is extemely humble and not accustom to compliments or kindness, but he is quick to offer them to people he cares for. Kurash is not very ambitious, content to do what good he can in the world and enrich the lives of his friends.

When his temper is finally roused it is terrible, as fearsome as any orc. But it is slow and difficult to invoke his wrath.

Kurash was pressed into service as a thrall for an ancient lich intent on conquest as part of his massive army. By both magical control and mundane manipulation him and his orc clan fought brutal campaigns against the nearby humsn kingdoms of their mountain home.

After decades of violence the orc finally made good his desire to escape, when a grand host of humans and other peoples crushed the lich's amry he fled by ship to distant lands who may not recognize the monster's clawmark upon his face. Sadly those he traveled with either fell on the journey or deserted for a less dangerous path.

In these new lands he makesa living as an adventurer trying to settle the vast karmic debt he gained as a footsoldier in a host of evil, and attempting to regain his culutral identity all but erased by the fiend who conquered his people.
