  • The Differences

    Angels
    A spiritual being, often depicted as a messenger or servant of God or a higher power. Angels are often described as having wings, halos, and being associated with goodness, purity, and divine intervention. Guides, healers, messengers, guardians, warriors, and protectors

    Powers/Influences:
    Divine Communication and Guidance:
    Angels are believed to exist in close communion with the divine, able to communicate directly with God and other celestial beings.
    They often act as messengers, delivering divine revelations, warnings, or blessings to humanity. This communication transcends language, coming as visions, dreams, or sudden insight.
    Healing and Protection:
    Angels are deeply connected to the forces of healing and restoration. They are often invoked or believed to intervene during illness, emotional distress, or spiritual suffering. Their healing powers are not limited to the body. They can soothe trauma, bring peace to troubled minds, and mend spiritual wounds.
    Manifestation and Elemental Control:
    While usually invisible to the human eye, angels are believed to have the ability to manifest in physical form. These appearances may be subtle, like a sudden calm in chaos, or dramatic, as radiant beings of light.
    Other Powers and Abilities:
    Telepathy: Angels can communicate through thoughts, impressions, or shared emotions, bypassing spoken language. They often inspire ideas, warn of danger, or offer comfort through internal knowing.
    Telekinesis: Some accounts describe angels moving physical objects or altering the environment.

    These dark spiritual entities, often overlapping in mythologies and theological frameworks, are believed to possess immense supernatural abilities, serving as agents of chaos, deception, and destruction in opposition to divine order.

    Powers/Influences:
    Influence Over Nature:
    Fallen angels and demons can incite devastating natural disasters—plagues, storms, earthquakes—as instruments of torment and terror. Their manipulation of the environment often reflects their rebellion, turning creation itself into a weapon against humanity.
    Deception & Manipulation:
    Their most dangerous weapon is deception. These beings expertly distort truth, weaving lies that masquerade as righteousness.
    They manipulate individuals, societies, and even nations, pulling them away from divine wisdom.
    Power Over Humanity:
    These entities possess persuasive abilities capable of swaying even the most virtuous souls. They can cause illness, both physical and mental, drive individuals to despair, madness, death or even push humanity toward corruption and spiritual ruin.
    Possession and Control:
    Demons, in particular, can possess human hosts, taking control of minds and bodies to act out their will.
    This often results in altered behavior, physical torment, supernatural knowledge, or terrifying displays of strength. Possession turns the host into an unwilling vessel of destruction.
    Other Abilities:
    Shape-shifting: Appear as animals, other humans, or angelic figures to deceive.
    Charisma and Beauty: Especially fallen angels possess striking, unnatural beauty and charm.
    Strength and Invulnerability: Capable of immense physical power and resistance to harm.
    Regeneration: Heal from injuries and maintain their physical form.
    Psychic Powers: Mind reading, thought manipulation, telekinesis

  • The Contradiction

    Powers:
    Holy Light & Bloodfire
    Cassiel can summon radiant light laced with demonic bloodfire, both searingly holy and hellishly corrupting. It judges what it strikes.
    Soul Perception
    He sees souls like stained glass. Fractures, brilliance, flaws. He can sense sins and purity alike, but never speaks of what he sees unless it matters.
    Wings of Ruin & Mercy
    As a mark of the outcast, he bares one ashen wing, and one wing that is feathered and white. When they unfurl, he can fly, but even more symbolically, they shield or strike depending on intent.
    Radiant Despair
    Cassiel can unleash an aura of sorrow and reckoning. Those within it feel the weight of their own guilt or the beauty of their redemption.
    Flamebound Regeneration
    Cassiel can recover from wounds by igniting them, burning away weakness, though the process is agonizing.     		Weaknesses:
    Himself
    Cassiel's biggest weakness is himself. A born contradiction, he is forever at war to please both sides of himself, causing him to misbehave, or act very impulsively. While able to touch both holy and unholy objects, he can only wear them on his person for so long before they will begin to burn against his skin. It also means that he is never truly at peace, nor will ever truly be able to find it.
    Isolation Instinct
    He withdraws when he should connect. There is a fear of what he’ll do if the balance tips. This makes him vulnerable to manipulation or despair.
    Mortal Ties
    Despite everything, Cassiel is deeply affected by human emotions, especially the strongest, such as love, grief, and loyalty. These connections become both strength and target.
    Dual Vulnerability
    Because he is both, light and dark magic that is pure in intent can wound him deeply. He's unshielded in a way neither parent race is.
    Wrath Spiral
    If Cassiel falls into rage, his demonic side surges and he becomes something… less human. He becomes harder to reason with., and terrifyingly strong. He can be almost unstoppable, at least until the crash hits.
