I really didn't want to have to put a rules page up because they've always just seemed kind of pretentious to me and I hang around places where most of the people already know what is expected of them because everybody else has got the same kind of rules page already. Blah blah blah, no god-mode, no text speech, ask for permission, blah blah blah. Everybody should get that by now and if not then I don't know what you're doing around TGT.
People have been annoying me recently though. Purely as OOC pet peeves, I really hate the following things:
- Talking to me about things I don't care about.
Don't get me wrong, I like meeting people on Furcadia. Some of you guys are really cool and I'm totally down to shoot the shit with you. It becomes a problem though when you start whining to me about things in real life. I do you the favour of not informing you how my menstrual cramps are going, so please do me the favour of not filling me in on things I'd rather not hear about either. How do you know what I would and would not like to hear about OOC, you ask? The general rule is don't bring up things OOC that you wouldn't bring up to a stranger you met OOC. I am a stranger to you. I'm not your friend or a shoulder to cry on. I'm somebody who's pretending to be a medieval vixen in a text-based roleplay game. That's what I want to talk about. There isn't much else.
I'm adding an addendum here as well: I sometimes play this game while I'm drunk or high, and occasionally I'll get a bit racy while speaking with you OOC. In case the "menstrual cramps" comment above there didn't tip you off, I am indeed a woman, and I also appreciate dirty jokes and sexy bantering.
I tend to find that on the occasions when this sort of thing happens, boys tend to start to press me for details on my sex life or try to get me to talk about my fantasies or their fantasies in OOC situations, and that gets uncomfortable fast. Do not do this. Never do this to any woman, even if she IS drunk and on Furcadia. If I get the sense that there is any possibility that you are masturbating to things that I'm saying while speaking casually in an OOC situation, I'm going to cut the conversation off.
I really wish I didn't have to say any of that.
- Trying to get me to change something about my character.
The straw that broke the camel's back and inspired me to put up this rules page was when somebody was asking me if I'd consider trying to RP some specific sex fetish with them. I said: "did you read my site? I explicitly state that Szarra is bad in bed. I'll RP, but I'm going to stick within the parameters of my character." And he responded with: "I was hoping that you could just change/ignore that so we could do [insert fetish here]." No. Fuck you. It really pisses me off when people do that. I'm not changing shit, get outta my face and go back to 'Amber's Sex Bar/Strip Club/Public Yiff' or whatever dumbass place you crawled out of.
- Making weird actions at me in whispers
I really don't know how to respond to people I don't know 'glomming' or hugging or tickling me randomly in the whisper window. Stop doing that. It's annoying. If you want to say something to me then just say it. If you type something like ":huggles Szarra" as a first whisper to me, it's not very likely that I'll give enough of a shit to say anything back. Or if I do say something back it's not going to be nice. You can say "hello" and that is a perfectly acceptable and polite thing to do.
