Valeana

Valeana was born in medieval times as the sole child of a wealthy lord. Back then her name was Luceia. Back then she was a very pretty young girl and because of this, her father forbade her from ever leaving their manor. The reason for this was so that she would not run the risk of becoming "damaged" and ruining her looks. He only saw her as a bargaining tool he could marry off for greater social standing and wealth. The only person who loved her was her mother, who sadly died in childbirth along with her baby brother when she was still a young child. Right before she died she gave Luceia a silver crescent pendant which is the only thing connecting her to her human past.

When she finally reached the age of eighteen, a young and powerful lord asked for her hand in marriage. Her father was quick to accept his suit and without one word to Luceia the preparations were made. However a pair of female vampires were jealous of her engagement to the lord because they wanted him for themselves. So on the eve of her wedding day, the pair abducted her and turned her into a vampire. However this wasn't enough for them so they visited a witch and obtained some painful potions to force feed her. They kept her weak by only feeding her enough blood to keep her alive. They wanted her alive so they could as they force more and more potions into her body that would make her body writhe with pain. However these potions would have an unintended effect.

They mutated her body into a bizarre half vampire bat state as well as make her immune to the effects of the potions. Her new body as well as this immunity proved to be the downfall of the vampire sisters as despite her weakened state thanks to her new claws. One night, Luceia pretended to be dead and one sister went to check on her. Catching her by surprise, she managed a fatal slash to her throat, and severing the vocal cords at the same time. She quickly gulped down as much blood as she could from the slain sister before moving the body far away from the door and waiting to ambush the remaining sister when she went looking for them both. Sure enough, her second captor came into the room, screamed upon seeing the body of her sister and rushed to her aid giving Lucia the perfect opportunity to ambush her and rip her apart. The now free vampire quickly consumed any blood she could find in the house and then left it to find out what had happened since her kidnapping. By hiding on rooftops she was able to use her highly sensitive bat ears to eavesdrop on the local gossips. What she learned from this was not at all pleasant.

It turned that her father had cursed her out, named her a harlot and disowned her. While the lord she had been engaged to, had simply broken off the engagement without a second thought the moment her disappearance became known. He wound up becoming engaged to some other girl soon after. Neither of them had spent even one second to look for her. With this knowledge, she chose to abandon her human name and became Valeana. She crept back to her old home one night and frightened away the servants from the shadows before setting it ablaze. Then she attacked and fed from the lord as her first human victim. She wanted to punish her father for always choosing wealth over her by destroying his precious house and she wanted to feast upon the lord who abandoned her without a second thought. Once her rage had cooled, she realized in a way, she was better off now. Unlike before, she wasn't chained to the human world and expected to be a docile wife having child after child for her lord husband. No she was now free of that fate and with those thoughts in mind, she left the town of her birth behind without a second glance.
