What He's Capable Of

• Pyrokinesis: Being a demon bred from the very pits of hell, that hell fire constantly burns within him giving him an affinity to fire in all of its aspects... Fire doesn't harm him as much as it would others, he can manipulate it, and call forth the hell fire from his own being to be used in multiple ways. (Preps depend upon usage.)
  
  Perception: Vellent can have a certain power over people... Without ever having to cast a spell upon them, just by knowing what to say as if he has some inner knowledge of them and the truth is at times... He can. Being a broker demon having the inside scoop is sometimes necessary to give a client that little bump they need to sign the dotted line... And thus Vellent has perception! A mixture of divinations that allow him to scry a person. (Now this is for plot reasons only if you do not wish this to work on your character, I usually make it known before hand before using it.) Though when such things fail him he is still quite capable of deducing what he needs through conversing with his client.
  
  Contract: The bread and butter of any Broker Demon is the contract... Such a form is written in an ancient text and in a ritualistic way that makes the terms of the contract unbreakable by any means. Once the contract is sign both parties must adhere to the stipulations of the contract. If one were to try and break the binds of the contract they'd find themselves unable to do so by some driving force that felt akin to magic but something more... Ancient and deeper reaching as if it was the weave itself. Though... Vellent has spent many a year writing these contracts and sealing the deals... A broker demon always comes out on top... And don't be surprised if he twists the contract to his benefit. It is a deal with a demon.
  
  Soulmancy: The name of the game, that end game one of the strongest powers in the world is the ability to manipulate souls... Like a never ending battery the energy one soul can produce is staggering and its limits of usage or null and void... Some say its the building block and Vellent surely understands the power of them... It was what the 'Hierarchy' battles for control of and now that he knew how to manipulate that power... Vellent wanted his slice of the pie as well, and a big slice at that. (Cannot be used if he doesn't have souls, Usually these are souls of player characters and thusly even though this is a powerful magic and can be seen as a bit moddish it is limited to his ability to manipulate PC's into selling their souls and even then he only has partial access to the full potential of their soul until they are dead.)
  
  Plane Shift and Teleportation: These abilities take too much concentration to be used easily in combat and so Vellent would never try to do so. It is as it says. He has the ability to shift between the planes of existence and teleport himself to places he's been on said planes... These abilities were learned to help him escape the pits and was the reason he was able to do so, Though at first he had to claw his way out but that is a story for another time.

• Weaknesses

  Holy Magics: He's a demon, a denizen of hell and so magics or anything of an exalted nature would be rather effective against him
  
  Banishment: He's an evil outsider! He is not from this plane he was born, created in hell from the fragments of three different souls. He escaped from hell and so a banishment would send him right back there.
  
  The Contract: Wait? You mean? That thingy he does is a weakness!? Well yes it can be! The contract works both ways, where it cannot be broken by either who sign it. This means that Vellent cannot break the deal that was made either... That is a flaw of a Broker Demon, they cannot go back on a deal, but careful now... Vellent is a master at wording things just right to make sure the deal goes in his favor.
  
  True Name: Now this is true with most creatures it is especially true with demons, and Vellent is not part of the exception. Knowing his true name would give someone a good amount of power over him. They could force him to do what they want, banish him back to hell and things of this nature, he would basically become their servant. But be wary, to use the true name of a demon is to envoke an anger in them so profound that if they were ever to break free, they would be your enemy until the day that you died, and with some work... A True Name could be changed and then... He'd be coming after you.

  Unique pieces though the seem almost mundane unless one took a good luck, stitching of the same color of the fabric creates magical runes that are ornately swirled about to look more like design offering him a plethora of abilities with them.
  

  • Summon Card:
    This ability allows Vellent to create one business card... His moniker burned directly into its surface.
    
    
  • Summon Quill:
    This utensil was quite the peculiar writer, it was a trigger. Anything it wrote had the writer's will behind it, though to use it one must write a magical rune or phrase or some other rune/sigil of power. When an individual writes their name using their own blood with this utensil it inscribes it in their true name, even if it is not known yet keeps it hidden. Even Vellent cannot decipher it unless he already knew the true name... Thus why it is used to transcribe the contract between himself and his clients.
    
    
  • Summon Cane:
    Vellent rarely goes anywhere without his nifty walking stick, but if he does or if it is taken from him a snap of his fingers and it will be brought back to him, in a flare of flame just to be dramatic.
    
    
  • Open Dimensional Pocket:
    Vellent doesn't trust anyone, so he doesn't leave things of value to him lying about, he has created a dimensional space that he keeps his more vital notes and possessions within. Anything from research papers to magical artifacts and anything of import that is large enough to fit through a 12"x12" square.
    
    
  • Summon Contract:
    The crème de la crème... Vellent's bread and butter. The contract is used for a multitude of deals he may make between himself and his clients. It is constructed in an ancient magic as mentioned above and creates an unbreakable oath between signers. Be it for the selling of their soul or something entirely different. Once signed it cannot be broken unless both parties consent and the signatures are crossed out. It comes to being floating through a the flames upon a pedestal of deep stained wood. The quill resting in a customized placement which holds it upright, the contract is unfurled upon the flat of the pedestal and writes itself as it sits there, although it is actually written in a ancient magic scripture it shows itself in a language both readers can understand clearly. Unless the person cannot read. Even though a fine print can still exist... Hidden in plain sight upon Vell's desire.
    
    
  • Fireproof:
    Being that Vellent is not only a creature whose essence is Hell Fire he can control and produce it so it'd only make sense that the gloves and the rest of his ensemble be magically treated to survive the intense heat of any flame.
    
    
  • Teleport
    Vellent can use certain magics and the like but to subside the need to cast them, he has imbued the gloves with the ability to allow him to teleport through any type of flame... Fire needs to be present at both the location and the destination for this to be able to work.

  
  
  The Cane

  A cane of intricacy and obvious worth. Its tip was red tinted metal spanning upwards to its handle was a black lacquered shaft though its handle was where intricacy came into play. The straight metallic(Also tinted red) handle was engraved with a motif of Dante's journey through the nine layers of hell. (If it were to be flattened it'd look something like this.) Though there is a bit more to it than that...

  • The cane hides a sword the blade his thin enough to fit in the sword, it holds a razor edge a vicious point and the metal seems enchanted to be stronger than what it seems to be.
    
    
  • The cane just as explained in the "Gloves" section can be summoned by Vellent at anytime from anywhere unless it is in a magic dampening type field.
    
    
  • The cane is also protected, imbued with the very essence of Vellent the sword cannot be unsheathed by anyone but him, unless they are able to mimic the Broker on a quite a extensive scale or by some sort of blood magic. Furthermore if he were to be disarmed and someone other than him were to pick up the sword it would teleport back into the cane. With this being said that wouldn't stop someone from pummeling the demon with the walking stick.
    

  
  
  The Tie Clip:

  Even the tie clip he wore had a bit of magic to it... Not much quite mundane as it was more to deal with the ideology that luck can be discerned by its probability. The tie clip makes small pushes in probability to make events where luck would be the deciding factor have a better chance of going in the Broker's favor. Even though it is minimal every little bit helps and it has helped him before out of a few tight spots. The Tie clips is his symbol... The scales tipped in favor. his favor
  

  
  
  The Host:

  Vellent's human form was not a form at all, but a shell... A vessel that housed is essence. His own version of a soul if it could even be called such a thing. Though it was human and born human... It was still born as Vellent had already claimed its soul in a round about way. Though before it could be used to his benefit... The body had to be made capable and sturdy enough to house the entity known as The Broker.

  
  
  • The human host is fireproof! If it weren't then Vellent would be burning through hosts quicker than marshmallows burning on a camp fire.
    
    
  • The host has no soul and its mind has been completely reprogrammed by the Broker, a pet project that he worked on for years while devising his plans to escape from the binds of his master. While Vellent is in control of the host the brain of course is used by Vellent, though not needed as the Broker is more a possessive force than a parasite, but he is parasitic in nature. Fact is that Vellent's true form cannot remain corporeal on the prime plane for more than 3 hours before it seeps back towards hell. The shell's brain has been wired for such a contingency. If someone were to successfully exorcise or otherwise remove Vellent from the host body. The brain will snap into action, awakening the host and having it take on the mentality of "Jaysin" This young man will act like a regular human would perhaps even a bit innocent, broken up about the fact that his body had been used by a demon, though it would only be a ploy as the host body will then begin trying to reconnect with Vellent as it is programmed to do. It will go about any means necessary to bring this about. Murder, thievery, bribery, deceit. Whatever it would take to return the demon to the host.
