*The journal began with a few scratched out lines, the author seeming unknowing how to start their first entry*

Hello, Journal... Do I call you Journal? Should I even be writing to you? You're just a book. Do people usually name you? I'm not really sure how to put this, this is my first time doing this. I wish you could write back to me, this would make it a lot easier to figure out. I am so aflutter with this new life, everything is so strange, but amazing. I am told to write about my days of my trial, though I am not sure what to write about? Do I rewrite everything that's happened or do I tell my feelings about it all? Or what I'd like to happen next? Maybe all of those. I'm not really sure. Journal, could you help me?

I had been staying at Herrin's abode for a few days now. She had found me in the library and offered me a warm meal and somewhere nice to sleep for the night. We had a lovely dinner in the garden with her slaves. They were kind as well and very interesting to meet. I began as a guest, though I wouldn't remain one for long. The longer I stayed there, the more I saw how beautiful their family was and how I longed for such a family. The day that Herrin offered me to help with her garden, I asked to join her family. She has accepted me for a trial and so this is where it all began. That night I was taken to my new room. I wished I could sleep in the garden, I so do love being outside. But she insists that it is too dangerous.

Herrin had her slave, Emilie help prepare my room and then brought in a large mirror. Its purpose I did not know but soon she would reveal such. I made a mess. My mind coming rushing back as I finished, panting and holding my... you know, Journal..well maybe not, books don't have genitals. She had me kneel and lick my mess off the mirror. It made me blush and feel embarrassed again. And then she told me to save the rest to clean up the next day so that I would remember. Oh, do I remember, Journal. It makes me blush just thinking about it. I don't know whats in store for me the rest of this week, but... I want more.
