• Natural Abilities

  • Mortal Bite: A Mal'Khi's bite can be deadly to magical creatures: if they can sink their large teeth into something's flesh, they will bite the spirit as well. The damage done to the spirit is typically reflective of the damage to the flesh, and cannot spread. Creation magics will cure these bites.
  • Fight, not Flight: A hereditary drive for conflict makes him react violently to demoralization/fear spells.
  • Soul Gorging: The Mal'Khi's true strength comes from devouring the core of a person. By ingesting the heart of a foe, Kai will stave off the onset of old age, and increase his vigor considerably.
  • Perfume: With a minute or two to focus, Kai can change his scent to match local flora, or to emit a floral perfume of his choosing. Typically, he chooses the scent of Lilies.
  • Creeper Vines: This ability is typically used for capture, and occasionally for absorption/consumption of flesh. On a magical level, it can be used to counterspell by targeting the mana as a fuel source. (Take the amount of preps, and subtract it from the number of offensive spell preps. Contact must be established, between the vines and the caster.)
  • Red Teeth: Learned from the flora that grew in Asturia; Kai forces crimson thorns to grow from his Creeper Vines, or even his own fur, which can slowly cause paralysis.
  • Red Pollen: Using his plants, he can produce pollen and powders with a few effects, varying from poisons, to hallucinogens and soporifics.

• Learned Abilities

  • Yanagi-Ryû - Art of the Willow: In adapting to his withering form, Kai has come full circle: he now employs passive combat techniques similar to his former master.
  • Espionage: His various studies have made him fairly adept at gathering information, and stealth-killing. He has a predilection for assassination techniques and trap-setting.
  • Wicker Man: An advanced art; familiars created using the Creeper Vines, they can carry a variety of cantrips and traps, such as poisoned spores and thorns. Most can relay messages mentally, much as trees communicate to one another.

  • Vagabond's Raiment: Nothing but braided rags and bits of pelt, a tribal-style outfit.
  • Lilium (Tachi): A celestial sword, forged by Vallahd. Kai channels his abilities through the sword to a degree, typically as poisons.
  • Ebony Tail-Ring: A tail-ring wrought from ebony wood, worn over braided cloth on his tail.
  • Assassin's toolkit: A compact collection of tools worn around his midsection, beneath his cloth wrap. Consists of: Three weighted throwing knives; a short steel baton with a chain hidden in it; a vial of flash powder; two lead musket balls; a length of oiled rope.
