  The things we did, He and I... Most of them are unspeakable. I for one did not know the full extent of what we would accomplish - perhaps he did, perhaps he didn't, but he didn't seem to care regardless. I have manipulated flesh with ease, but had never before attempted to touch the mind. His experiments tapped into something that I believe no one has a full understanding of yet, and I have learned first hand how dangerous it is to meddle with the unconscious mind. The mind contains the invisible threads of what makes someone who they are; and those threads are not as easy to knit together as the physical nerves themselves. I still have trouble sleeping - I think my own threads are criss-crossed now...

  When I found him, I thought it must have been fate. I had been running away from my past and he promised that I would be able to stop running if I underwent his new procedure. I didn't usually trust the brain-shrinks and their soft sciences, but I was desperate. I told him to erase it all - years of it - and as far as I could tell when I woke up, he had done just that. I was amazed at his miraculous results. Fascinated, I joined him in his project, testing a technique he called 'Neuro-Essense Organization'. I had to admit, his talents with hypnosis were unparalleled, the way he worked with minds almost preternatural. I watched the brainwaves and administered the drugs; he talked patients into doing what was 'in their best interests', as he would say. But there were side-effects. You couldn't just delete parts of someone - that changed them. I had changed too. I began crying out of the blue, and the only thing that would soothe me was his strong low timbre murmuring, 'it'll all be okay.' I didn't think you could become addicted to a voice. Eventually, I'd had enough of the turmoil, and demanded that he reverse what he had done. You know what he did? He simply shrugged and said it was probably for the better... I think my memories have returned, but I do not trust what he has tweaked in my brain to do so. I try not to think about it, but I still hear his voice in my dreams.

  The Island (I)
  Guildereim... what a mixed bag of memories. There were times I couldn't remember ever laughing harder and other times that drove me to the brink. Though my start on the island was rocky, I had, amazingly enough, found myself a group of friends there. They were a ragtag gang, and perhaps none of us would ever actually admit to being friends, but we'd had enough rounds at the bar together for it to be undeniable. However, my time there was not all stitching and drinking; I had found myself entangled with something - someone - that I never knew would be my downfall and the reason that I left to rid myself of all memory of my years there...

  We clashed and neither of us were good people, but we knew that, regardless, we also somehow worked. Sure, we might have tried to kill each other, but that was what people did when they were in love, wasn't it? We thought two dysfunctions would make a right, but I suppose it was never meant to be in the end. It still pains me how it turned out, but I admit the return of the memory after my experiments with NEO is strangely reassuring and nostalgic now.

  The Early Years
  Becoming a doctor seemed only natural. Anatomy had always fascinated me. Many years of hard work brought me the title of M.D. but my actual duties left much to be desired. Paperwork was never my strong point, neither was good bedside manner. Eventually I got so frustrated with the bureaucracy of the medical field that I decided to go freelance. The board frowned upon that, despite the lives I was saving, so I lost my license when someone snitched on me. That little snag hardly stops me from practicing though, and I still get more done than my peers in the safety of their hospital offices.
