    Light shone through the trees, speckling the pale cheeks of a strange girl; the warmth of the rays gave the female pause as her fingers delicately tip toed upon her cheek until her palm came to rest where the light had been. Exhilaration shone brightly in her eyes, despite their absence of sight, having been born blind. It had been a millennia since any of her people had dared to venture from the darkness of the caverns below.
