The lighthouse was commonly considered by locals to be, in a word, cursed.
Inexplicable events plagued the land on which it was built, primarily fatal accidents, and its inhabitants became all the stranger with each passing decade. Its anomaly was more or less confined to the little island, rarely bleeding onto the mainland, until a gaggle of unsavory unknowns took residence within. Strange sounds and lights radiated from the fortress at night. Townsfolk went missing. Those who remained were plagued by mind-numbing night terrors. Then, as if overnight, the Dralts arrived. The terrors ceased altogether, and a time of peace has followed. They are an elusive family, and the company which comes and goes looks to be questionable characters, though residents have collectively concluded that their presence- as it stands- is preferable to that of their predecessors.

Vessels
The Valkyrie: With carracks considered the predecessors of galleons, some could say she is an antique. Captain Dralt prefers the term "tried and true", as she is the eldest vessel from his former family company. Three masts, solid oak, built with a belly designed to hold her stable in heavy seas and to stomach substantial cargo for long voyages.
The Silver Lining: A small dinghy, mahogany with a silver-capped rim. She is used for recreation, to include fishing and diving. -
Effects
While at sea, Dralt is rarely witnessed without his mask. Some sailors suppose he is disfigured.
Fashioned to enable eating and drinking without requiring removal, the bauta features a projecting chin-line, prominent nose, and "distressed" lines under either eye. Stark white, the porcelain lacks any manner of design or gilding, and the slender eyeholes are regularly covered by dark-lensed glasses. The name bauta possesses no definite interpretation. It may originate from the German behüten (to protect), or babau, an Italian representation of the monster, bogeyman, or Bad Beast.
Prosthetic leg
An exceptional anatomical mechanism honed from light mithril by a master artificer. Capable of lengthening or disconnecting at the ankle, it comes with two attachments: a plain foot-shaped piece for fitting into boots, or a gargoyle's grip with curved talons.
Badge, a monstrous serpent carved from antler. Fastened with a white bronze pin, eye dotted by a fleck of onyx.

Weapons
Ornate Rapier
Flourish weapon. Silver blade with a sturdy yet elegant gilded hilt. Typically worn with dress attire and not taken into combat. One of a pair: its twin was passed down to Abigale.
Graced Katar
Punching weapon. Steel blade blessed to slice specters, solid gilded hilt. One of a pair, its twin was lost at sea. Passed down from his mother.
Inherited Sword
Heavy steel sword with a metal-capped hilt of polished wood. Primary weapon, often wielded with shield. Passed down from his father.
Round Shield
A solid steel buckler, decorated with a brass ring and painted black, house crest circling the front. Held with a thick hide handle, often fastened to his hip or back when anticipating combat.
Gifted Dagger
Iron dagger with a wooden hilt, regularly kept concealed on his person, sometimes slipped up a sleeve or tucked into a boot. Gifted by Narantuyaa. -
Attire
As a born and raised gentleman, Dralt places care into his appearance with consistent grooming and a well-tailored wardrobe. When in public he prefers to be clad in crisp suits, heavy with quality, but he also expresses an appreciation for undecorated plainclothes. He favors long coats, smart jerkins or vests, leather gloves and boots, pressed shirts or loose tunics. Stylistically, his attire resonates predominantly with English nobility, but it is marked with a subtle Indian flair, especially while wearing fineries.

Animals
Prometheus, also dubbed "Prom", is a silver dapple destrier serving as Dralt's mount. The stallion is a warmblooded breed that stands just shy of sixteen hands. He is a loyal and intelligent beast, skittish under any rider besides Dralt himself. Prom's sire was a heavy war horse of northern European descent while his dam was a lighter, faster, fiery-tempered hot blood from the Mongolian steppes, creating a breed that combined the quickness and agility of race horses with the larger build and milder temperament of cold bloods. Technically, as he is undead, all of his blood is cold now (resurrected by Tide). 
This draconic creature's egg was a wedding gift from the dragonrider Vardr. The hatchling was five feet long and twenty-five pounds, with soft scales glistening like mirrors and small horns jutting from its crown and snout. After a year's time, the sheen faded and his hide became jagged and fierce. By the 1700s, it will have grow to fifty feet in length, and after several centuries it will grow an additional hundred feet. For the time being, the anaconda-sized wyrm dwells in the depths of the couple's abode, guarding the secret lower levels from intruders (and vermin). 
A barghest: wolfish goblin creatures of formidable strength. Try as he may to name it Argus, Tak's twins took to calling him Pumpkin, and that- regrettably- is all the animal answers to now. One from a litter of six, the pups had been stolen to serve a vampire coven which Dralt's clan clashed with. The group took them in after defeating the coven in battle. While the creatures can consume sentient souls, the party agreed to give them mundane diets. They can wear dog-like disguises, making them almost indistinguishable from hounds. They may charm animals, sense approaching doom, cannot swim, are resistant to fire, and wounds made by their claws are prone to cause infections. 
Falathiel is a great horned owl which Dralt collected during a hunting trip with Narantuyaa. Finding the mother owl deceased, her hatchling left to the elements, he chose to take her home and undergo the tedious task of training her for falconry. Fala is steadfast: while released in the night to find her food and stretch her wings, she always returns to the Dralt residence. She is adept at flying ahead on his hunting trips and crying out when prey is spotted. Hers is a mild and independent personality, but she shows phases of attention-seeking.
Gaea is an albino pit viper and Dralt's familiar. Unlike the average mage's familiar, the serpent seems to come and goes as she pleases. Because of this peculiarity, she is hardly treated as a pet, and her arrivals appear to take place in times of change- positive or otherwise- or duress. She holds the ability to extract magical energies from her keeper. She possesses no ability to change shape and will always hold the form of a viper.
