ARTIFACTS AND TALISMANS: A revolving door of charmed and cursed trinkets and substances. If there are any forgeries (which he will fervently deny), they're remarkably good. Stock.

DRAWING MATERIALS: Charcoal, chalk and ink.

FIELD NOTES: Unlike his journals, these are written in Latin and the regional common, and consist of observations and detailed studies on various magical plants and creatures. Lycanthropes appear to be a favorite.

GAMES: Larger games are infrequently carried compared to the far-more-portable card decks, but he will reliably pounce on opportunity with relish.

• Chess: A complete set of a board and small, carefully carved stone pieces, and stored within an impeccably crafted box, one that doubles as a board when unfolded. Crafted and given by Aranel
  
• Cards and Dice: They tend to appear via sleight-of-hand at tavern gatherings.
  
• Deck of Illusions: When a card is drawn and thrown to the ground, it forms an illusory creature, controlled by the deck's owner. This creature is informed by the art on the card, and it appears real and of the appropriate size and shape of the being it imitates, though it is yet tethered to the landing point of the card and cannot travel beyond a thirty-odd foot radius. The illusion is not entirely airtight: objects can yet pass through it, and it can do no direct harm. The effect lasts until the illusion is dispelled or the card is moved; the magic is then 'used up,' as the image on the card disappears. While Arron is not the original owner, he appears to have made an impression upon the deck, nonetheless: aside from the two Jokers which manifest as his exact doubles, the creatures he's conjured since his acquisition have tended to resemble himself in some form or another, whether it's gestures, patterns of speech, or odd physical characteristics.
  
• Encircling Game: A game of Go (though Arron never learned of the name on reception, and nobody's clued him in since then); another hand-crafted board, complemented by black and white stones.

JOURNAL: A small leather-bound book, with entries in a variety of languages - most frequently in German. Within are loose leaves, many crumpled and dirtied with age and exposure, and the entire presentation is tied together with strong strings. Legible entries include journals, detailed anatomical studies, notes on his profession and various religions, lists of names, and drawings of people he has encountered.

RING: Inconspicuous, black, with a glamour embedded throughout; this hides his many burns and scars - particularly the gnarlier and stranger ones that seem immune to his own 'treatment.' Given by Ehen

SPECTACLES: Small, crafted from metal, glass and leather; seen when Arron is reading or drawing.

WEAPONS: A wicked-looking trident dagger is almost always worn in plain view as a dueling knife. This piece is steel, ornately crafted, and has mechanisms within that allow the blade to split into a three-pronged weapon at the press of a button; the wings assist in trapping larger blades, while the center remains lethal. In addition to this, there are always at least two knives of varying makes and purposes - for his work or otherwise - hidden on his person. As of late, he's come into possession of a bolas and a set of small claws worn as knuckle weapons, but the closest he comes to a 'proper' blade is a Katzbalger cutting short-sword, rarely seen save for organized matches. There are knives for throwing, knives for carving; perhaps the greatest indication of a strange and repressed paranoia is that there are almost always at least two hidden on his person at any given moment.

NATURAL AFFINITY

Outside of his (former) accreditation as Magus at Sairon, Eileadora's notable college of magic, he hesitates to use the term "mage" in reference to his capability. In Arron's case, the magic and power he wields is not drawn not from an inner wellspring, as is the case for many spell-weavers, but from his surroundings and the element-based items around him, and he serves to merely channel it - power flows into and through him, rather than out of him. It could best be described as an affinity or a knack - one that Arron has notably put to use in the creation of various constructed creatures, and - to a lesser extent - his breeding of the borametz.

It's a sort of magic typically associated with craftsmen due to its ties with elemental materials and aspects of nature, and its associated physical reagents and components in turn are 'attracted' to the wielder. It manifests in various forms; Arron's case encompasses earth and stone manipulation, including telekinetic movement and malleability to varying degrees, identification of materials, and imbuing various crystals, gems and stones with unnatural aspects such as light and heat - invaluable when growing the borametz, and also good fun at parties. Magical foci, spoken invocation and repetition serve to refine and direct desired effects, at the expense of speed.

Curiosity is a prime motivator; his own spark of a talent did not satiate his need for variety for long and left him wishing to learn about more - he possesses many books and scrolls of many esoteric subjects, including alchemy, curses, transmutation and other such schools. Though largely, when things can't be invoked under his own means, he remains merely a student of theory - albeit theory of a voracious sort!

➣ CALEV || "it" || materials: vary ▪ A catchall name for many little fist-sized machines of varying construction, which resemble anything from amorphous stone to sharply carved and polished insectoid creations with six legs, wedge-shaped heads, glittering eyes, and rounded snouts. Often skittering about just out of sight from one task to the next, when at rest they perch on their master's shoulder like strange mechanical parrots. ➣ ZE'EVI || "he" || 7" || materials: stone, earth, ivory, steel ▪ A ragged tank with a storied and messy history, Ze'evi is quadrupedal, heavyset and able to withstand massive amounts of damage magical and mundane. Asymmetrical patches of grey, brown and green are marred by glassy scars that hinder some movement, missing chunks and age-worn edges. Black stone eyes are round and reflective upon a great wedge of a head, and claws are polished with a light and metallic sheen. Rarely seen, retired on arrival in Thornmouth.
