(This is all wip and subject to drastic changes if needed.) The history of the man was veiled with deceit and betrayal. From his youth he was always competiting with his older brother for the favor of his stern and demanding father, whom left him always feeling like he lacked everything that his brother had. His brother had been (even...) bigger and more courageous, thinking for others in valiant manner, where Ashmoddai (or lil' Niko as his brother kept calling him) put his own demands infront of others. Ashmodai joined the military and his ruthless behaviour and intelligence drove him fast through the ranks, where ability to make right calls in little time was often seen in higher respect than taking calm steps and making sure nobody got hurt in the way. The man went through heavy infantry unit and cavalry, leading company and then in the end a batallion. Even this didn't bring him enough favor from his father, whom was already old and frail, living the twilight of his long life as recent widow. His father had grown even more bitter when Ashmodai's older brother and sister had died in dramatic events. The corpse of his brother had been hacked to bits and fed to the wildlife in the Faust estates, while the public records of his older sister's death had been obviously altered and adjusted - it seemed like she had died in an accident inside the massive Faust manor. Ashmodai's younger sister was left to take care of his father as the military man was busy in his own carreer in the military, having little time or interest to visit his home and family. After all the times that he had done so had left the man empty and hollow in the inside... It was remarkable how long the man had been able to put up the false facade of his own sanity to the outer world - the coldness in his actions were put off as ruthless and religious following of military doctrine rather than incaring and being a sociopath. The military was after all the best surroundings for his own self, the man's batallion fiercely loyal to the direwolf. But all the while, after visiting a gypsy town on one of his campaigns, the man was shown his future - and he knew he had to act on it, before he could let it slip through his grasp. Thus he had started studying the occult and black magick - gathering tomes and knowledge of the arcana on his campaigns around the country. When leading the batallion, the man was presented with an opportunity beyond all - the secret project that was meant to build the country he served the first airship of the region, giving supreme power over neighbours and other coalitions forming. The risk and secrecy of the project needed utmost loyalty from it's participants, thus the battallion lead by the dire wolf was chosen to guard the factories and town gathering around the endless project. |
In the end, the chaotic day when he betrayed his country was an easy task. The Steel Star collapsed on one of it's test flights - exploding in middle of the town. In middle of the inferno, Ashmodai's men took over the key positions and dispatched of the innocent to keep the betrayal from being found out as long as possible. |
