Been trying out ice magic.. Which is difficult for me.. Because I don't think Ice magic is really a thing at home. Well ice magic is basically water magic but cold.. So if I took out the warmth and fire..

Basically even water itself isn't entirely a pure element and could hold some element of heat, or the surrounding area might be whats retaining the fire elements or heat. If I could just drain that away the heat, or create water with out heat then I should be able to make Ice.

From there I just need to make ice smooth and reflective.

I tried this several times but what seems to work is moving water.. Just like how Issy explained it.. If my magic is in flux, then something else in flux should work a lot better.

When I finished my experiments, i came across Fjara and Gideon. Gideon seems to be getting.. Better? Was that even possible? Maybe. She's been through a lot I think. Same with Fjara, it seems like her lady friend left her, and her pregnancy cravings are so bad that shes just slurping up worms from the ground.

They seemed to be discussing some prophecy from a seer or kahuna that warned them about someone being jealous of Eric? No wait that;s not how it goes. How does it go? Well the prevailing theory is that prophecy revolves around Eric.

Gideon was kind enough to give me a dragonshard as a focus point to channel my magic through. Let's see if this helps in my endeavors.

Okay I have learned a couple of things so far with my magic and how it works.. Issy described it as swirly or in perpetual motion so maybe trying to enchant or channel it into something moving might work. Or something more.. Curly? Or intricate? I mean.. There's a method to the madness and he seems convinced there is a better way to store or weave my magic into something. So rather than enchant something stiff and straight.. I’ve been working on enchanting sticks to store healing properties, which are straight.. Only a little more than half remained after the process.

Islington advised me to keep even the failures to study later which I never really did. A bad practice on my part.

I was also asked if maybe I can help enchant something with the properties of reflection or mind into an object, he showed me a diagram and I honestly did not have my book at the ready to copy it down.

Either way, I’ve been trying to disassemble things that have these elements. I met a man, an elf, or jotun.. I’m honestly not sure what he is.. Fridr was his name. He was excited to help me and mentioned a kind of magic that was verbal as well as runic called Galdr magic. He produced ice magic Like an ice knife and attempted to cast spells that might reflect things with this galdr magic. He had me throw the knife at him.

I learned two things from this, that when activating my tattoos for magic, once I cut it off.. I’m left with the excess magic. Basically, I was in the middle of pulling out my own magic like a door, but I attempted to shut the door and push the magic back in, but.. Once it’s out, it’s out.

Secondly I learned that my magic is still completely random. I realized this when I attempted to throw the ice knife at Fridr’s wing and the excess magic rolled out as sharp dark like stones.

So after apologizing to him for his injuries, he advised me to throw the knife at a tree with another galdr rune. I missed completely, but he threw the knife at the tree and it ricocheted without a single scratch on the tree.

It however sailed towards me and reflectively, I flinched and released my magic again. This time.. My entropic magic did not send me into a seizure but instead I was completely conscious and aware that in these fits, any magical or mundane materials start to break down into their base forms around me. Sadly I could not capture the Galdr magic because it dissipated before I could gain it or absorb it for myself. This was disappointing but I learned a valuable lesson here…

Don't throw knives.

It has been a while since I have written here. Things began to feel so much of the same.

Then I woke up with my cart plummeting into a lake, although it sunk slowly, I had to rescue what little I could and unlock the chain from my ankle. Thankfully there was another person who saw this and decided to help me. Her name is Fjara, and she's a warden. Though I am cautious of her kind, I am glad that she was there or I would have not been able to rescue what I could in time.

I woke up in a realm, very very far from home and apparently in some other time. It is called Idolvollr? I'm certain I am spelling the name wrong. There are so many words for me to learn. I had been staying in the meadhall Gimlee for the time being. Though I am worried that I might have another fit in my sleep and accidentally set something on magic.

But I write in you, not because of my woes but because of hope, that I haven't felt in so long. Though it hurts me to acknowledge that I might be the last Olmeidian, I think I found people that are not like me, but in a way are like me? Valerie says she knows what its like to feel alone, alienated and will from this point on be trying to include me in everything which is very kind of her.

But she also wants to help me with my magic. There may be help here in actually doing more. Even Fjara had spoken to me about taking steps to find a cure for my magic, or at least a way to empty my crystal or find a new one to drain off my excess magic.

This feels like the first time, people are willing to help me and not just throw me away or treat me like garbage. And it feels nice. I really want to return home, I long for it and to hear my language again but it is gone. But these people actually want me to stay or even find a place of employment.

I met a gentlefurre named Islington who was actually interested in my form of enchantment... and also a man, who terrifies me. The bauble instructed me to run but no one else was running so I would have looked like a fool. His name was Kinyr, and he claimed to know me.

He questioned if I was even human.

Of course I was.

Am I even alive? Is anything I imagine real? This place feels nice, like I have hope, but there is a pain.

The ever present pain. Next time, I will elaborate further but I must get some sleep.

I have made new acquaintances. One is named Morgue, He's an outside cast like me. He seems very lonely but he is very nice and plays music very well. I also met the ship captain again. I keep forgetting his name. No luck in getting him to show me his maps. I just want to go home, hear my language, be someplace that makes sense to me. I just do not miss the persecution. I want to know what befell my homeland after the invasion. Is there anyone left? Am I the only one to carry foggy memories of it? Maybe my hints were too subtle because I could not even convince him to take me and take me to his ship.

My tricks have been getting better, and I started to use other things besides my cards. One of which ended up in a mishap for a few nights ago, I was performing in the tavern. The trick was to swipe some metal or gold from a participant and make it reappear in a handkerchief as if it was attracted to the shredded piece of cloth. Morgue was watching in the background and his friend Kain, and elf unlike Maydril or Feygan or Zaany. He stepped into the act before I completed it congratulating me on swiping the chain off the man's neck and interupted the show. I gave the guys necklace back but lost out on a meal that night. a couple days later I ran into him again at the temple.

Before I could step out, he noticed and apologized. It seems as if his lands suffered a similar fate to mine. I'm leery about him. His kind nearly wiped out my race and may still be doing so. He is far too nice to me. He walked with me to the tavern but on the way there, we passed by a shop selling a necklace with a red dragon pendent. He bought it under the guise of for him but when I turned around, he draped it on me. I could not and can not accept a gift from an elf or anyone that I have known for only a couple hours. Or a gift as lavish as that. Kain would not take it back from me until I made a little lie that I lived in a bad part of town and of course he had the unfortunate solution of me living with him. This elf who I don;t even know wants me to live with him and likes me enough to buy expensive and beautiful gifts for me.

This would sound all too swell and dandy but he lives in the woods. I will never go into the woods again. Ever. What if he;s the demon that wants my magic? Maybe he is not, what if he's just a very nice guy who needs company? what if he wants to buy me? Would that be all that bad? I am pretty certain there are some horrific fairy tales that start out that way.

The magistrate summoned me to his office and I did not have any gift or any way to thank him but he seemed okay with that. Although I was extremely nervous about meeting, he was very calm and hardly raised his voice. He informed me that while I was unconscious, there was a demon that was targeting me for my magic. To protect myself, he gave me this bag of things which will keep demons from tracking me down or scrying on me. I really wonder where all the rumors of him being scary and mean come from because he was very civil and nice to me. I will never understand the people in Rayneth. He does have this weird ability to throw his voice though. I don;t he ever moved his lips when he spoke.

I think what I get most out of this is that I can start trying to live normally, that is as long as I don't sleep wander. Maybe my sleep wandering is a side effect of my magic. If I can start living normally, then where do I start? Aloran informed me to not stress myself too much but considering that I sleep on the streets and do not know if I could afford the next meal. I am starting to really like the entertaining, but only for the cheers and applause I get from people, but not the nervousness before and during each show. Maybe I can do both, earn more money, have a house, be successful and useful to people. But that will be stressful.

Okay job opportunities. Maybe the tavern is looking for help. I don't think I have the stomach to work at a butchers and definitely no skill nor strength in working for a black smith. Do they need scribes?
