Aria Camena

Aria grew up among other Sirens, and like any, has lured plenty of sailors to their doom. She is not evil though. She just doesn't see why eating a person should be considered any different from eating a fish (and she mostly does stick to fish). She grew more and more bored of her life over time and longed to see more of the world, and so one day she decided to fly off and just keep going.

The first place she found was a port town, where her arrival was less than appreciated. Luckily, she was rescued by a woman who assured Aria that she (the woman) was human, despite how much she smelled like delicious squid. The woman also assured her that clothes were necessary among humans, and retrieved a nice, simple dress for Aria before the siren moved on.

The dress was soon disposed of, being quite the nuisance.

In time, Aria grew upset at the way everyone kept reacting to her with fear and violence for reasons she couldn't understand. As she sang out her lament, a passing ship happened to have a musician among its crew, a man who was driven to add his own uplifting melody to her sad song. The pair went back and forth, fascination growing before they had even seen each other. They met after he jumped ship, drawn by her song, and Aria cared for her "Piper" over the next few days while he quickly came to love her.

They left their little island when they saw a ship passing through, but their rescuers turned out to be pirates, curious about what had happened, but uninterested in letting them leave. Once Aria was on board and had killed one of the men with an unheard scream, the rest of the crew followed after, and the captain's refusal to give lead to his death. Another fight followed soon after, this time with a band of brigands on land. Both Aria and her friend were in worse shape though, and she led the brigands away from the badly wounded piper, only to end up exhausted, hoarse, captured, and abused. The piper, barely alive, managed to get the brigands to abandon camp by convincing them that the siren carried a terrible disease before he opened her cage and collapsed into her arms. They were found and nursed back to health by a kindly travelling performer, who helped them to the next town.

To try helping her blend in, Aria was initially dressed up with her wings covered like she had a large basket on her back, but she very much hated it. Then there was an attempt to make her wings look fake and puppetted, which went reasonably well until the piper, pretending to puppet the wings, pulled the siren back from a young woman she'd decided to kiss. Having been building up an irritation at the piper with his efforts to make her blend in and adhere to human standards and customs, there was a musical blowout over it, and Aria abandoned the young man.
