• Description

  Tsume is a shaman from the eastern side of Nikko, Japan. Generally, he is more recognized as a prophet of the gods for his spiritual connections to the plains of the afterlife, Heaven, and Hell. His mind, body, and spirit are sensitive to the paranormal, supernatural, and of course spiritual entities. Often than not, he is usually off-putting because of the strange deer mask he is always wearing. To Tsume, the mask is worn to show respect towards the beings they are not meant to be seen by humans. His gift to unnaturally see these happenings is why he hides behind the mask. He often spends his time by rivers and high places because of the belief that they are passage ways to the unforeseen plains. Unfortunately, this makes him seem strange to a regular human, whom wouldn't risk their lives at such a high places or frigid waters. Trained as a shaman since childhood, Tsume is immune to hot and cold temperatures, fire from hell and ice of the arctics alike. He travels the lands to offer assistance to anyone in need, from healing to exorcisms, but also to further his knowledge and understanding of the skies and depths.
  
  Tsume's training left him with a rather graceful disposition. There isn't a time he doesn't demonstrate some form of elegance. Despite this, Tsume is actually quite clumsy and uncoordinated. He tries to hide it, but it's pretty obvious when he accidentally falls over or breaks something. This is exceptionally dangerous because of the naginata staff he carries around. The weapon is generally only used for spiritual reason in vanquishing evil spirits and surfaced demons from Hell. It also vaguely used as guided staff for summonings and his other spiritual powers.

• Biography

  Since a very young age Tsume had demonstrated some form of supernatural capabilities. This had always put him at odds with the other villagers, children, and even parents. From a small village in Nikko that was often plagued by bad spirits, everyone around him simply assumed when he was born his weak soul was possessed by a demon. To combat this, his parents tried to have various shaman's exorcise his soul, but the shamans only gave the same reply; there was no demon possessing him. Unable to accept this because their son still retained his unnatural gifts, Tsume was often neglected and abused. Coupled with the villagers and other children avoiding and treating him badly only made him move further into his shell, which is probably another reason why he hides behind his mask.
  
  One day, things looked up when a monk noticed Tsume for his gifts and decided to take him off his parents' willing hands. Raised by the gentle monk he learned not to resent his parents or the villagers for their ignorance, though it wasn't as if he blamed them anyways. Instead the darkness that had began to grow in his heart dwindled away the closer he began to understand that his gift was not a curse. Further down the line, after the wise monk passed on, Tsume went to go stay and continue his training at the Futarasan Shrine. It is there where Tsume was truly labeled a shaman and his title as a prophet furthered.
  
  Tsume doesn't often speak about the abuse he had faced as a child or scarring mishaps that had occurred. The only evidence of such incidents his behavior towards people and the evident scar upon his back. Stretching from his lower back to his back-shoulders and upper-arms, are prominent trickling scarring of pale pink and white. The scars are like thin irregular branches woven together at the center of his back, spreading out across his body. It paints the picture of an awkwardly shaped sakura tree with various dying branches. Tsume doesn't speak of how this injury had happened and most would never see it.
