  Roma Lavrenti Vasilyev was born to Aristarkh Timur Vasilyev and Lilia Slava Vasilyev in 1975; he was named after his great grandfather who died fighting to defend the Russian Tsardom during the rise of communism. For his early childhood he lived in a small village that wasn't even connected to any road worth speaking of. It lied approximately 4 days outside of Moscow and 8 days outside of St. Petersburg. The closest village with a train stop was still a day away and the region wasn't necessarily safe, but at least they didn't have to worry about Soviet troops busting up their home.
  
  He was raised by his mother, as his father had been dragged away to a gulag either as a conscript or as a prisoner when he was very little. She did her best to teach him what she knew but there were very few resources for them to take advantage of. He could've always been sent to the public school which had been built in a neighboring village but, his mother was far too paranoid to risk losing her son to the Soviets. As such he learned primarily from what few old text books the seventy-eight residents of the village had amongst them. Most of his education came from antiquated science and math books, and religious writings.
  
  Despite his educational environment, or lack there of, he showed a natural intelligence and was quickly well versed in what literature the government allowed, could do algebra with ease, and had a rudimentary understanding of calculus. By the time he was a teenager he was doing all he could to help his village, construction, hunting, fighting off looters, and even acted as a surgeon once (it didn't end well).
  
  As he matured into a teenager he did the majority of the physical labor in the village since the population was primarily senior citizens and widows. He abandoned any notions of a higher education since the resources of the village had been exhausted and instead devoted himself to learning more practical skills, hunting and skinning animals, trapping, sharpshooting, keeping an automatic rifle under control, etc. He didn't experience many loves during his teenage years, but he did have a very extensive affair with cheap, home-brewed vodka that one of the older men in the village made from a still in his basement and whatever grains he could get his hands on.
  
  His routine stayed the same throughout his teenage years: wake up early, go hunting, dress kill, bring kill back to village for his mother to prepare to be cooked, then do whatever task might need doing before retiring for the night to drink with the men of the village. So it went until his twenty fourth birthday when, several months after the fact, they're village was notified of the fall of the Soviet Union. It was much less of an event then they'd expected, of course they lived in the ass end of nowhere. He stuck around for a few more weeks, half expecting his father to return home, alas the hopes were in vain. His mother died shortly after that, she came down with a cough which developed into pneumonia. After that Roma just left in the night, without warning and without fanfare. He walked to a neighboring village and took a train into Moscow.
  
  Unsurprisingly the condition the city was in could be described as no better than squalor. He sold what possessions he'd brought and some animal hides he'd picked up along the way, getting enough to rent a room in a tenement. He found that in the power vacuum after the fall of the soviets the mob stepped in quickly and took over the role of dictating people's everyday lives, Roma was no exception. He started off doing courier work but soon found that the skills he's learned to survive served just as well to make some extra money. He'd work as an enforcer or hit man depending on the day and saved all the money he could, still living in his tenement. He tried to save up enough of his own money to book a ticket on a flight to the US but, couldn't do it fast enough. He killed the wrong person, a rising star in the parliament and was forced to get a lot capital, fast. So he engineered a way to leech money out of the obocheck (bribe money). He miscalculated and stole thousands of dollars overnight, which was transferred to a swiss bank account. He once again departed as quickly and quietly as possible for the Ukraine and withdrew the money, then booked a flight for the US when he was 26.
  
  In America his plane touched down in Chicago's Midway Airport. He faced many of the same challenges he had when he just arrived to Moscow; with only a few thousand dollars to his name he got a cheap apartment, an English tutor, and a job working as a janitor for a local college. He learned English quickly and was soon able to speak conversationally with others, at which point he stopped visiting his tutor. He struck up a acquaintanceship with the head of the economics department at the school and after showing a remarkable level of comprehension for a undereducated immigrant who barely spoke English the professor asked him to come to his office later.
  
  The meeting in the professors office proved a positive turn for Roma as the meeting was meant for him to test on the SAT. He barely got past the 2,100 mark, the minimum to get accepted to that particular university, but considering his background it was impressive. He applied and was accepted with a scholarship, it may well have been affirmative action but it turned out for the better.
  
  So he pursued the education he gave up on long ago. He didn't have much in the way of clothes but he was smart enough to go shopping before the semester started, showing up the first day wearing a Armani suit he blew the vast majority of his money on, and wearing the suit everyday for the rest of the semester. He got through college without much difficulty, a bit overwhelmed by the sheer amount of people there so naturally a little introverted, that and he was always the best dressed person on campus for no apparent reason, meaning that paranoid feeling he got the the people laughing behind him were actually laughing at him, was usually right.
  
  He coasted through college for the most part and graduated at thirty three with a masters in economics. He was quickly employed by an investment bank due to the recommendations he received from his professors and he remains with the same bank to this day, quickly climbing the corporate ladder. He maintains contacts both still in the mob and among those that have left it's ranks and from time to time will have a get together to reminisce and get drunk, outside of this, the rare one night stand, and a few random encounters he doesn't often gets much social interaction. His work tends to force him to travel so he justifies it by saying he doesn't have the time.

  He has pale skin, dark brown hair with touches of gray on the sides, and dark brown eyes. High cheekbones and a square jaw makes his cheeks slightly gaunt but not really. His nose is a typical Russian nose, in the middle there is a small lump but it is not big enough to make his nose convex, and leads to wide nostrils. His hair is cut very short but it is not a buzz cut. He stands at 6'1", and is well muscled. He has broad shoulders and is wide across the chest. His abdomen, if not defined, is at least hard. His legs are slightly longer than his torso but not by much, and built for power, not necessarily speed. (Good enough for now.)
