"They called it abandoned, the gated hospital on the outskirts of the city. Trespassers will be fined printed on enormous metal signs zip-tied to chunky chains that hung less like barriers between humanity and the dilapidated building, and more like banners. Welcome invitations, really, to any prospective ghost hunter looking to evade the tired security team that never seemed to show up for their shifts.

That right there was what made it perfect, the ideal place for a demon with a hungry quota to fill to lurk, picking victims off like petals on a weathered daisy. Sure, slinking around the building could grow boring for any normal person, but Eliotte was neither normal nor technically much of a person.

"Striking charcoal against the page, Eliotte was swift and lacked detail in his work, focusing on the contortion of various bodies, those across pool tables, or bracing their weight on a supportive friend. Everything amounted to how their bodies worked, and not what they truly looked like. And yet, every so often, someone had to tempt Eliotte's fingers to turn the page and start on a different creative journey. Call it typecasting, but [descriptors] always suit his fancy.

Peaking out of the corner of his blue eyes, Eliotte kept himself quiet, doing his best to seem invisible amongst a crowd of less than appealing people, switching from a charcoal pencil to lead to begin outlining [character]'s facial features in precise strokes against the paper. Ensuring he didn't linger too long, so as not to give [character] the feeling of being watched, his body felt tense. Surely, he'd committed worse crimes beyond sketching cute boys in bars, but for some reason, this one made Eliotte tingle all over - as if he'd just robbed a fucking bank. Not even that cozy two-person booth could hide his little endeavor, but Eliotte tried anyway."

And that's what drew him out of the confines of his home and into the comfort of the forest. Distant enough from the city that the natural hustle and bustle was drowned out by the crunching of summer leaves. Overgrown and unkempt, there was something about the distance to perfection that always made Eliotte feel at home. That, and often prey managed to weasel their way into the woods in hopes of spotting wildlife or smelling fresh air.

Happening across Eliotte in a secluded place like this was more often than not a damning circumstance. Sure, he had a charming smile and all the makings of a normal person. And yet, he was the furthest thing from the 'normal' most people encountered.
