    Things have been uneventful for the past two months. Haven't had much of a reason to update, except for last night when Rios and I got jumped by some mooks over at the cemetery. Wasn't 'till we paid them our proper respects that I got the idea to come back to this.
    
    That said, there's been a few other things.
    
    First, I've finally run into a few old friends again. Sonya, a woman who I still can't remember all the details about, seems to recall me from a while back. Luckily, she's in the position to make a few investments, so I've recruited her on board. Rios is back from another contract, and I gotta say I'm glad he's back. Seems I've made a few enemies along the way, and I could use the backup.
    
    Second, I've had to restructure the syndicate. We're no longer going after territory; There's too much competition for that. I'm thinking we're gonna handle manufacturing, and let the Bratva handle it. Sonya ain't too happy about it, but I think I managed to convince her. As long as we're making money, no reason to go to war, right?
    
    Third, there's been this guy, Vik, who's been causing a lot of trouble. Unfortunately for him--and maybe later down the line for me--it seems that everyone wants to play the hero. Folks stopped him long before I came to the scene, and I figure if he tries something again, they'll be waiting. However, I got a feeling he just ain't got the right training. Maybe we fit him out with the proper equipment, give him a bit of an education, and things might just shape out nicely.
    
    If things get developing quickly from here on out, I think I'll get back to writing in this thing.

  • Phase Two February 21st 2015, 6:57 pm

    Things are beginning to look up from here on out.
    
    These past two weeks have been busy, to say the least. I've put down a lot of money buying up office space for a new sort of business to handle all of the funds I've been bringing in. Basically, I'll be running an investment firm that works with small businesses and develops the economy here. With all of the capital I've been bringing in, it'll be easy to funnel that into a variety of different industries and cover my tracks. That, and I've begun to set up offshore accounts for the investment capital.
    
    Luckily, I found an employee to bring in potential leads; All we gotta do is figure out which businesses will benefit us the most. Shouldn't be too much of a problem, though. I got bigger things to worry about.
    
    One of those things are the supernaturals that keep crawling around this town. I recently found a contact that's willing to do some private investigation for me and build up a list of the most prominent ones. The more threats I know about in this town, the better prepared I'll be if the shit hits the fan.
    
    The other...Well, Iris is pregnant. Saying that I'm not too happy about this is an understatement. Last thing that I need is another fucking liability to hold back the business and jeopardize me anymore than I have to. Hopefully if my company gets off the ground, I'll get her enough compensation to keep her happy.
    
    Well, that's all that can be said for now. More to come as new events develop.

  • Reunion. February 3rd 2015, 4:51 pm

    Ran into a lot of different people today. Shit is getting stranger and stranger.
    
    I know this is supposed to be written from an unbiased perspective, but I'm just gonna take a moment to break from the norm. Crowling came back...as a ghost. Yeah. So I thought when you kill someone, they're supposed to stay dead. Apparently not, because she tried to fuck up a date between me and Iris. Well, wasn't really so much of a date as me running into the chick as well, but uh...That's not important.
    
    What's important is Crow's apparently back for good, though why I'm not sure. Couldn't get away to talk with her for too long before Iris kinda called me in for some "community service." I dunno if they hand out boy scout badges for fucking the disabled, but considering how often I do my duty I'm considering asking for one.
    
    Anyway, once I got out of that, I headed over to the local titty-bar, and managed to meet up with Rios. Haven't seen him since Christmas. We exchanged gifts and Crowling just kinda appeared next to us and the three of us talked it out. Feels really weird when you can kick back and talk with the person you killed like nothing happened. Hell, I still don't know how to proceed with this.
    
    Anyway, I'll keep things posted when I figure out what to do for now.

    Crowling's dead.
    
    It was never my intention to take her life, but the circumstances gave me no other choice. She was perhaps the only person who seemed to pose a threat, and the only one intelligent enough to realize that I was onto something.
    
    I won't spare you the details. They're not important. It's what didn't happen that I keep thinking about. The more I think about it, the more I question whether her death was necessary. I keep telling myself that it was, that she knew too much, and yet that lack of enmity in her eyes during those final moments urges me to reconsider.
    
    I'm not sure what to do with myself now. I can only hope that I soon discover how to proceed from here.

  • Incredible Breakthrough. January 26th 2015, 8:23 pm

    There's been several momentous breakthroughs as of late.
    
    First off, I've recently been courting a blind woman whose name I shall keep secret for now. She has effectively become my source of blood under the pretense of a sort of relationship or something similiar. Unfortunately, in order to establish such a bond, I had to take her virginity, which may prove to bite me on the ass, if something goes awry and she discovers that I'm not the man that I seem to be. Hopefully it shouldn't come to that; So far, I've been successful at keeping her away from compromising situations. The less she knows, the better.
    
    After the incident with her kid, I hadn't seen Sian in awhile. I figured that it might have left her vulnerable, and my instincts were right. Brought her over to my place, gave her some of the product, and she responded accordingly.
    
    However, things didn't go exactly as planned.
    
    Seems that something within the compound that I created triggered a violent reaction within her bloodstream, bringing out those feelings of aggression usually found in lycans, but without forcing her into a transformative state. Consequently, she basically smashed in most of my furniture, bit a huge chunk of my shoulder out, and then proceeded to mount me on the pool table. Something has to be said about the sex drives of the women here. I swear.
    
    So, that being said, I figured I'd use her own lust against her. Unlike the other woman, Sian's blood seems extremely potent. It allowed me to tap into my gifts with a strength and ease of which I don't usually find, though the aggression and closeness to the Beast that it brings me toward may be something to worry about. That being said, I utilized her own blood to call upon a ritual, entering a pact with one of the Old Powers by channeling the power of her blood and her lust into the rite.
    
    Something feels different now. I can feel an emptiness growing inside me, something that strengthens me and yet seems to take away and what little substance I had. I wonder if she feels the same way. Then again, it matters little. Sacrifices have to be made for the sake of survival, and I have a feeling surviving is going to become a lot harder from here on out...

  • Suspicions January 22nd 2015, 10:38 pm

    I'm almost positive the person that's been tailing me recently is Crowling. She's stayed by my side almost every day for the past week, and things finally came to a head last night when someone followed me over to a location I stated within earshot. They tried to confront me and Dre with a flashbang and apparently an electric cane, but I let Dre handle most of the security work. Despite our efforts, she escaped from us.
    
    Still, it wasn't a total loss. I came back tonight and met with a few new faces, one of which apparently is some sort of angel, magician, or something...Fuck if I know. Anyway, she somehow divined out its location. Luckily, she's a lot better at it than Miss Cleo, and I actually found the damn thing.
    
    Now, all I gotta do is wipe it for prints. I figure at least having some physical evidence will give me an edge if she tries anything stupid.

  • Breakthrough January 12th 2015, 5:28 pm

    I have been meaning to update this entry for awhile now, as there have been a few interesting turn of events that have only confirmed my initial suspicions about the city.
    
    It turns out I was right. Andre has been hiding some sort of power all of this time. Turns out both he and Sian appear to be some sort of ghoul and require flesh to sustain themselves. When their cravings take hold, it appears to bring out a change of personality: They become openly sadistic and manifest a previously-unseen predilection towards gratuitous violence, making them extremely dangerous. However, this need not be a liability.
    
    Given the sheer number of supernaturals in this city, perhaps they may prove a valuable asset at staving off any threats to the business. Recently, I recorded another creature that tried to assault me in the graveyard. It was hard to make out any real details, but the shape of her body and the scaly protrusions make me believe she may be some sort of reptilian lycanthrope. Also, she appeared to have a close friend or family member watching over her, a young blonde man who I recall meeting on one of my first nights here. I'm sure he knows a lot more information, but right now I'll simply bide my time.
    
    To the extent of my knowledge, the others know nothing about who or what I am. I aim to keep it that way.

  • New Findings January 8th 2015, 1:31 pm

    I'm beginning to think that this city is a bit unlike anywhere else I've been. During my time here, I've seen hints of the supernatural in my interactions with others. Usually, it's the occasional vampire that you run into within a city and not much else, but here... There's an undercurrent of something unnatural about virtually everyone.
    
    I recently met two acquaintances who call themselves Meph and Koosh. Yesterday, they invited me to an outdoor party in this backwoods clearing. While the two of them seem friendly enough, I have reason to believe that they may be lycanthropes. They kept referring to their circle of friends as a "family," and one of the men there mentioned something off-hand about being a Beta...All I can say is I'm glad I've been filing down my fangs every night.
    
    These are just suspicions at the moment, but if my instincts are correct then this town is crawling with supes. And if everyone's special, then no one is. I cannot afford to reveal anything about my own nature. Every piece of information is a liability, and I ain't planning on jeopardizing my life or my business to get close to these special snowflakes.
    
    On another note, I'm gonna try and meet with my contacts to see how distribution is going. I'm hoping on carrying out an expansion if the demand is there. Hopefully, we can implement phase two without a hitch.

  • First Entry. January 3rd 2015, 7:04 pm

    To start off this new year, I've decided to record all subsequent events in this current incarnation for posterity. I hope that should the unthinkable befall me, this journal may contain critical information that may prevent my future self from repeating the same mistakes. I'll try to keep this as unbiased as possible; the last thing I want to do is mix my personal feelings in with the reality of the situation.
    
    Hopefully this journal entry will prove to be a useful source of information.
