    Victor was sent to live with his Aunt Sarah and Uncle Henry Ash when he was three, after his parents were killed during an attempted robbery. Victor did not speak a word to anyone until he was five years old. His Aunt and Uncle had not been in close contact with him or his parents before he'd come to live with them. When asked about his childhood they could not recall if he had been able to speak before his parents' deaths or not.

    Victor had always been fascinated with the outdoors and the outdoor survival lifestyle since he was very young. This interest was fostered by his paternal grandfather, Aunt Sarah's father, who moved in with them when Victor was six. The man's nephews and great nephews, Victor's older cousins were all hunters and the family owned a large amount of land up in the near by hills. Victor never took to hunting for sport and though he was taught to shoot he prefers not to use a gun when hunting for his food. The land the family owned had passed from father to son and after his father's death legally it belonged to Victor himself, though his grandfather and other relations were not in full agreement with him on the matter.

    When Victor was five his aunt Sarah caught him in the kitchen holding a pair of sharp kitchen knifes, one in each hand. He stood in the middle of the kitchen turning them slowly in his hands staring down at the dancing refection on the blades made by the over head light. His Aunt Sarah, a timid women by nature, feared the small boy would harm himself and tried to take the knives away. Victor being startled and upset by his aunt's intrusion gripped the knives tighter when she tried to pry them out of his hands and lashed out at her, cutting her arms badly in the process. The child showed no remorse for his actions, thinking himself in the right. From that point on his aunt was afraid of him. This also prompted his uncle to question the boy's mental stability.


    Uncle Henry suggested that they send Victor away to receive treatment as he believed the boy's behavior was due to some unknown condition that he presumed the boy must have for him to act as he did. Aunt Sarah was reluctant at first, but out of fear for what could happen if Victor's behavior was not addressed, she did consent at last and Victor was sent away to a special school for disturbed minors.
    When he returned, two years later, he was slightly better behaved and much more inclined to walk away from his aunt and uncle when he disagreed with then to attack them out right.

    Still not satisfied with his nephew's behavior Henry Ash strongly suggested that the boy be committed to a mental hospital due to his strange habits such as sucking on metal objects, his continued fascination with lights, his ritual of going through any crosswalk he came upon repeatedly for hours on end and his overall disinterest in people. His wife Sarah disagreed since Victor's habits were not violent and she often reminded her husband that the boy seemed to be the lest troublesome when he was left alone. Henry countered with the fact that the boy still acted violently whenever someone touched, bumped into, or even brushed up against him when walking by.

    This kind of talk continued for years until Victor was twelve years old. On evening he over heard his uncle and aunt discussing the subject of putting him into a mental hospital. Having some knowledge of such places from old movies the boy was dead set against the idea and not wanting to risk being tricked in order to be taken to such a place against his will he ran away.

    He went to live on his own in the hills on the land that the family owned and seasonally used for hunting deer and small game. Victor has lived in the wild on what he considers his land for many years now. At age twelve he dug himself a shelter into the side of a hill and put up a red door which can open and close on a hinge with a lock and everything. He keeps alive by trapping rabbits, squirrels, and occasionally small birds to eat. He also raids birds' nests for eggs and has a small garden full of wild onions, potatoes and various herbs. Every so often Victor leaves his home to do odd jobs in town so he can earn money with which to buy things at the stores that can't be found in the wilderness.


  • Crusoe Hill



    (In RPs where Victor is an adult he) legally owns the land he lives on, that is Crusoe Hill and the surrounding land up to Beaver River to the west, the road in the north, the stone wall(belonging to the former neighbors) to the east and up to edge of the public lake and campgrounds to the south. Within these lay the one thousand (1,000) acres that make up the property. Victor's parents had already added him to their wills shortly after he was born because his father's job, as a photographer for a geography magazine, had them moving all over the world and getting into some dangerous place in order to meet the demands and deadlines for his job. At the time the land had already been legally pasted down to Victor's father from his grandfather and as the eldest grandchild the land would have past down to Victor eventually more than likely.

    Victor uses very little of his land for anything other than trapping, having settled into a comfortable shelter in the side of a hill he built himself which he named Crusoe Hill. The land has since been give this name as well after the paperwork went through giving Victor ownership of the land. Previously it was called Hart's Wood after the family's surname and the large forest that had then took up most of the land when it was first bought by Victor's great-great-great grandparents back in the day.
