One half of a twin pair born in the lap of luxury to rich parents, standard descendants of any strict old snobbish family line, Adam behaved like any spoiled brat did. Perfect in the eye of the public and otherwise at home. The estate was a dollhouse of sorts. All anyone outside the family could do was peer in and see picturesque family bliss and for Adam and his brother, that was the case. As daddy's carbon copies and golden children, they could do no wrong.
Claimed by cancer, their mother soon was on her deathbed. This was when the thread of Adam's obedience snapped. Years of playing dollhouse at home and following whims had done him no good. Since the age of seven he hadn't known a happy family environment and found more fun and joy outside of home. Once 18 and free of his father's control, he went out to experience life in the most intense and extreme way possible and undertake the most dangerous jobs he could find instead of following his chosen route to study for a doctorate in law. All in secret, of course. As estranged as they were from each other and as much as Adam wanted to leave home to pursue life on his own, he was still his father's oldest son and the man was reluctant to leave his house and fortune to a boy he perceived as irresponsible or rebellious - and as he neared his fifties Adam made an attempt to win over his father only for the sake of his will, but things changed in their entirety when the Bassett patriarch found out about particular 'unseemly attractions' of his - Adam was atracted to men, had accumulated bad reputation and was the talk of the underground... and his father certainly wasn't having it.
He didn't get disowned, but he left nevertheless. Life didn't turn out easier outside of the dollhouse, however, as by that time Adam had developed a lot of many expensive habits - smoking, drinking, drugs and prostitutes. He fell heavily in debt, went through short periods of homelessness and barely scrapping enough to survive. He's occupied many horrible professions shamelessly. After making the mistake of joining a fighting pit society he realized a majority of the fighters were supernatural creatures. Intrigued by lycanthropy, Adam asked for the bite, excited by the prospect of strength and endurance. He adapted to the lifestyle easily, as it fit his confrontational personality.
