• Description

  The sound of Highland pipes precede this huge bear as he marches to his destination in military time. Eight feet tall and five hundred pounds of bulky polar bear is covered in pristine white fur. The long, shaggy hair on his head reaches down to his shoulders and is dyed blood-red. His clothing consists of a black leather vest, left open at all times for comfort and movement. Black leather bracers wrest on wrists, with silver studs around each end. Lower torso is covered by a heavy kilt with a black and white tartan pattern of his clan. Broad, black leather belt wraps around thick waist with huge silver buckle at the front. On a smaller, silver chain belt hangs the Sporran pouch. Red leather and trimmed with fur dyed the same colour as his hair, a silver seal engraved with a picture of a wolf's head. Feet are bare to allow excellent tread on any terrain.
  Claws are black and gleam with a metallic glint and curve with wicked intent. Teeth are all well-taken care of and, while white, shine with the same metallic sheen as the claws.
  Deep blue eyes are usually warm with good-humour and mirth, though they do not lack intelligence. A kind smile usually graces the big bear's handsome face, enticing any who wish to join him for a drink, a conversation, and a laugh.

• Biography

  At his birth, Douglas' parents sent him to live with extended family due to a civil war in their homeland. He was so young when he was sent away that he had no memories of the cold, icy land of his birth. Raised by the Highland folk, he was brought up with their culture and believed nothing amiss, though he was the only bear for miles around.
  At his tenth birthday, the lad was claimed by the local Elder to be raised as a Guardian. He was taught medicines and healing spells as well as how to fight. He spent ten years in training, honing his mind and body. Unfortunately, a bear being taught by foxes will never get it right. And so it was with Douglas. He mastered the healing aspect, and fighting strength he could not be matched, but his lack of speed eventually forced the Elder to release him from his training. However, because he'd been chosen he had been granted longevity and regenerative properties that would allow him healing and aging far beyond those of normal creatures. His studies led him to learn he would rival the great dragons in this way.
  Faced with the depressing notion of outliving all his family and friends, he left his home with a heavy heart and set out to make his way in the world and a name for himself with just his pack full of clothes, his battle-axe, and his favorite set of bagpipes.
