• Description

  Cria Laenaius, in her human life, was something of an average woman in her home country. Raven haired, olive skin toned and very well mannered. When she died, so did a large part of her innocence that her family once held dear. It gave her a great many years to ponder her existence and learn from her mistakes. She dresses as is necessary for the event, being well informed on current clothing trends. No matter what she wears, blades are in easy access and she can, and will, punish the unwary. she is patient and calm in both conversation and teaching. If a student is willing to deal with her eccentricities, they can learn a great deal of history and much about combat. She moves with a grim, concentrated determination that, at some times, seems as weightless as the wind. With the amount of experience she has, the inexperienced in their chosen weapons normally fall quickly, the well trained (or master level trained swordsman or woman) can stand against her barrage of sword strikes for long expanses of time. Also, she is not typical of vampires, sunlight only weakens her and makes her vulnerable (She can die from major physical injuries in the sunlight, but heals in darkness) and fire is one of the few things that are lethal to her frame.

• Short history

  Cria Laenaius was born shortly after the birth of the Roman empire. Her family was a noble family in the new Roman Empire. With the power of her family came freedom from the normal penal system of Rome, but that does not mean her father did not have enemies. Her father was betrayed by his closest friends and most of her family was killed. She was taken as a slave and, being young and beautiful, would sell for a very high price. Even with her disgusting fate in front of her, she stood strong and used the little strength and skill she had to escape her captors. For days, she ran from the slave convoy. With her body exhausted and her mind damaged, she did not have much choice but to stay with group of small farmers she met on the edge of the forest. The next day, what little piece of her life that she had left was taken from her. The farmers were part of cult that believed in the sacrifice of virgin woman to the Roman Goddess of Death, Mania. She was the last one sacrificed in Mania's name and Cria's heart was pulled from her chest. It took her barely two seconds before her eyes closed permanently..... or did they. In the darkness of death, Mania came to her and offered her a deal. The power she needed to persist for Cria's soul. With a nod Cria came back as a vessel without a soul. With an unnatural strength and speed, she killed the farmers and drained them as her first feeding. The next action she took was to hunt down and kill the men that killed her family and their legion. She succeeded in killing all of the conspirators in the crime. ...
  
  Now Cria wanders endlessly through the world, seeking those afflicted with her curse to help them learn and accept what they have become.
