Patient, impartial, placid, quiet, rational, understanding, discreet, modest, hard-working, careful, practical, considerate, gentlemanly in his calmness and tolerance of others, does not spill more blood than necessary, chivalrous, passive, intellectual, despite being a vampire he's subdued rather than feral in his bloodlust. However, he's detatched, harsh and greedy, sometimes impolite and narrow-minded. Generally pessmistic, ruthless when set on edge, downspiralled into solitude. He's a regal man made up of inner turmoil, abandonment issues and a cold front; fragile middle. Violent outer layers.
Mannerisms.
Hands held behind his back, chin held high, hair always maintained to not get in his face. Killing technique - calculated movements. Calm, quiet voice. Calm, quiet anger; will kill you without breaking a wrinkle. Lacking emotional reactivity; at least it doesn't show in his face. Eyes betray his emotions.
Nathaniel Francesco began his story as a mortal man in Sicily, Italy, a man with wealth and a loving family. He was the heir of great fortune and a future father; a seemingly perfect life and an accordingly happy and kind personality, along with a proper dose of ego. In the case of his parents, the dose was not as healthy... Their incredibly wealthy and pure bloodline was to be preserved and in their era, the myth of vampires was a prevalent fear of locals. Whereas many avoided thinking of the monstrous species plaguing their cities, the Francesco family became steadily obsessed with the concept of the immortality and immense power. The idea of being frozen in their current ages appealed to them and they began searching for a vampire to give them blood. When presented with the idea, Nathaniel was far from agreeable. Vampirism cut off potency and the man wanted to see his child grow up and age,. His parents were adamant even when he rebelled against them and soon, he discovered they were already immortals, capable of forcing him to obey their whims. He was separated from his pregnant wife, the last moment he saw her beautiful face. He was locked inside a dark room with another man. Red eyes peered at him from beyond the dark. Vampire. Stronger than Nathaniel, it soon managed to restrain and bite him.
He awakened with an uncontrollable thirst and with his wife in the room, the worst possible victim they could have prepared for his 'christening'. She begged for her life but his mind was not his own and soon, he held her corpse, tears mixed with blood. It had been his punishment, for disobeying, but while he might have gotten his, the Francesco family was about to get theirs, too. He buried his wife in a grave, flanked by seven ripped out hearts. Vampire hunters investigated the mass murder and came upon Nathaniel. Torture was decidedly a better sentence for slaughtering such a high-standing family as his... For years he was held and subjected to pain until his 'prison' received a new addition. Nathaniel watched the witch, Nikodemus Desalvar, level his prison to the ground and free him.
Strengths
Enhanced Senses
Nathaniel's sensitivity to the sun stems from well-developed night vision. They possess enhanced smell, sight and hearing.
Enhanced Strength & Speed
Nathaniel is physically more advanced than the normal human. He can sustain extreme exertion. Fast on his feet, though he doesn't employ it often. Cannot sustain great speeds for a long amount of time.
Insensitivity
Nathaniel's dermal layer cannot pick up neural signals, thus pain cannot reach him even if he is exposed to direct sunlight. Her epidermal layer may even begin melting away, but he will remain moderately unphazed.
Regeneration
After feeding on blood, Nathaniel has the ability to regenerate wounds. The more regeneration necessary, the higher quantity/quality of blood needs to be consumed. When he has not fed in some time will struggle to regenerate wounds with speed faster than a normal human's, and wounds regenerate their fastest within an hour of feeding. Upon ingestion, humans can take advantage of his vampiric blood as well.
Weaknesses
Sunlight
This is the bane of any vampire’s existence. Direct sunlight contact has the ability to kill Nathaniel after only a few hours. Heavy cloaking and eye protection can allow brief moments of daytime walking, from one shaded location to another.
Feeding
Nearly all of Nathaniel's abilities are significantly diminished if he does not feed regularly. A lack of blood can cause weakness, dizziness, decreased ability to tolerate holy objects and sunlight. Feeding consumes his thoughts if hungered. Poor quality of blood, such as animal blood offers very little boost to his strength.
Holy & Hallowed Objects
Objects that have been blessed by priests or divine entities are considered to be “holy” and have crippling effects to Nathaniel. Items like holy water act as the equivalent to acid and may burn his flesh on contact, buthe often does not feel the effects until necrosis of upper tissue layers begins. Hallowed Grounds weaken him when he stands upon them; he cannot enter churches.
Wooden Stakes
A stake to the heart is lethal to Nathaniel.
