• Life Story / Background

  Vera Silverwind, like many Kitterwings, was made whole from magic. In the Dragon Lands, many Kitterwings are born in the Olde World, and those born in Kasuria and Drakoria must be careful to not find themselves captured by the mages or Wyrmmes, lest their magical properties be abused.
  
  Vera was born into Drakoria, along with many others. She was the smallest Kitterwing in the glade, only six inches tall. But that did not hinder her. She had many friends and they enjoyed the peace and harmony of their home, hidden away from the dangers of these Wyrmmes and Furres. The Kitterwings in her home had dominion over nature, able to purify waters, make flowers blossom, and much more. For many years, these Kitterwings lived in harmony and happiness, unaware of the dangers around them.
  
  That wasn't until two thousand years later, when the Drakorians reached their territory. Rather than try to make peaceful contact, the Wyrmmes began to enslave the Kitterwings, killing some of the ones who tried to escape. Vera was unlucky enough to be captured when she tried to snare the Drakorian raiders with vines. The Drakorians then began to abuse her abilities, using them to grow crops where they normally wouldn't. When not making her grow the crops, they forced her into her Furre-sized frame and used her as a punching bag.
  
  This continued for nearly four-thousand years until the Wyrmmes had succeeded in taking a ship full of Furres near the seas. Among the new arrivals was a young unicorn named Floe. It would be this Furre who taught Vera how to speak Common, and more importantly, help the little fae escape. When it was sunset one night, Floe had waited until many of the Wyrmmes were asleep. Quietly, she took the keys to Vera's small bird-cage, and unlocked it. However, as Vera made her escape, Floe was caught by the Wyrmmes. She fought valiantly to buy Vera time, and while Vera was able to get out, it was too late to save Floe, who was murdered protecting her little fae-friend.
  
  Vera flew, as fast as her little wings could carry her that night. She managed to reach a Wyrmme port, and hide among the valuable goods. It would be then that she were loaded onto a ship, which was carrying slaves that had been bought and were being sent to Guildereim. Vera stowed away on this boat, and due to her size, went largely unnoticed as she stowed away.
  
  A week or so later, the ship arrived at its destination, the Golden Tether. Vera had never seen such a fantastic island. But the more she observed, the worse she thought of the place. There were slaves, much like she had been, that were caged like animals, made to clean when not busy tending to patrons. And even then, she saw many species that she never knew existed, like Hyoomuns and other Furres. And then those who were neither.
  
  Vera retreated to the nearby jungle, somehow able to survive for a long time. And it was a wonder the Kitterwing survived the End of Days when a tsunami swept over the Tether, and shortly after, the earthquake. As the Tether recovered, Vera went about collecting valuables, finding that the ones that were shiny to be amazing. This lead to the Kitterwing being a collector of all things that glittered and shined in the light, hoarding what she found... be it the gold the Tether used, or lost jewelry.
  
  But during the five years after, the jungle only grew more dangerous, and as such, the Kitterwing had to move into the Tether's walls. It would be that time that the Kitterwing had taken what she collected and hid them in two areas: her "coin" hidden in the rafters above the atrium, and her more precious jewelry hidden in the infirmary.
  
  Vera, while mostly avoiding of the patrons, often found herself finding a few who interested her. Some of them often had shiny objects to give to her and referred to her as "cute," while many more saw her as a pest and treated her as such. It would be the later crowd who would eventually seal Vera's fate. One night, after accompanying a pair of Furres and singing with them as she cleaned a shiny she found, she found a copper coin and decided to land upon the head of a woman to clean her newfound coin.
  
  The woman whom she landed on, Rose, decided that she would torture the little fae the moment she found out who had lighted there. Vera would undergo her limbs being pulled at, her leg being cut open, and threatened to be eaten. She did everything she could to try to escape, going as far as offering coin and even spilling where she had come from when a slave, Sura, guessed she was a slave once. Her secret exposed, she was taken to Loraen, whom had already hurt her the few days prior and called her a "bug." Loraen forced her into a larger state, and strangled her to unconsciousness.
  
  Vera awoke to find herself behind the cages, and shortly after, it was discovered that the Tether was under siege by the Drakorian Empire. Assaults were carried out against the Tether, and while Vera tried to escape when let free to run, she was caught in a cloud of poison, but saved by another slave. Taken to the Underhall to rest, an army of Wyrmmes and Bugges invaded and caught the poor Kitterwing, taking the Underhall and, eventually, the entire establishment.
  
  Unfortunate for Vera, one of the Wyrmmes -- Tyrania Sharptooh -- knew the Fae. It had been this Wyrmme who had captured, and enslaved, the Kitterwing years ago, and it would be Tyrania Sharptooth who punished her. As an example to the other slaves, Vera's wings were torn from her body, bone and all, and her back stitched shut as her right eye was ripped out of its socket and lid sewn shut. Given time to recover, the little slave was forced back in the pens, finally broken and defeated.
  
  It was not until Colors and a couple others broke into the Underhall to save some slaves that Vera escaped. Following them back to the Rebel's hideout, she did what she could to help and eventually, after a few weeks, the Tether retook their establishment. During this time, two of her friends she got to know during the siege -- Nadira and Unicus (who is host for the Karkadann) -- were freed. Hoping for freedom herself, Vera was denied. Even more broken, Vera returned to the cages, where others began to rent her for something that is not at all innocent; sex.
  
  Due to these rentals, the Kitterwing has become prey to the Dark Primes' manipulation, and is slowly becoming the one thing that all Kitterwings who are good fear of becoming; a Dark Kitterwing. Vera is all too obvious and wary of her transition, but unfortunately, she has not the ability to say "no" to anyone, for fear of punishment.
  
  Her fate during these trying times is unknown, but what is known is that she will never be the carefree Kitter she had once been. She is on the pathway to darkness, and it all seems too late to turn back, sadly.

  Vera eventually became friends with Nadira. While the unicorn is free now, she still comes and sees Vera from time to time. The kitter greatly enjoys her company.

  Enemies

  	Loraen (played by Angela)
  Initially called the "Cruel One," Vera now calls her the "Evil One." This is because she seems to show little to no care for the slaves, at least in Vera's eyes. Despite this, if Loraen commands, Vera must obey or suffer the consequences.

  Acquaintances

  	Muunokhoi (played anonymously)
  Also known as "The Fat One," Vera respects and fears his authority, and will go out of her way not to make the Fat O-- Er, Muunokhoi mad.

  	Erimear (played by Catie)
  Erimear is possibly the first Furre in the Golden Tether to show any kindness to the Kitterwing. Offering her a golden bangle in exchange for being good, Vera sought to improve from that day forward and be less of a nuisance.

  	Yokan (played by Nectar)
  One of Vera's protectors within the Tether's cages. She adores his green scales, and is glad that he is willing to protect her, since she cannot do so herself.
