  The name "topaz" is usually derived (via Old French: Topace and Latin: Topazus) from the Greek Τοπάζιος (Τοpáziοs) or Τοπάζιον (Τοpáziοn) from Τοπαζος, the ancient name of St. John's Island in the Red Sea which was difficult to find and from which a yellow stone (now believed to be chrysolite: yellowish olivine) was mined in ancient times. Topaz itself (rather than topazios) was not really known before the classical era. Pliny said that Topazos is a legendary island in the Red Sea and the mineral "topaz" was first mined there. Alternatively, the word topaz may be related to the Sanskrit word तपस् "tapas" meaning "heat" or "fire".

Mostly just an homage to his upbringing - a direct comparison to the fury of fire; when out of control, even the earth cannot escape its rage -, but also a continuous relief of constantly-building power within his core, a relief without which would spell certain disaster.

  ¹ Early development years were pretty chaotic when it came to determining his form, both aesthetically and physically. Various different combinations were played with and tested until a physical build was perfected for flight capable of sharp banking and agile, aerial combat, as well as for a strong formidability in melee combat. While not massive and overly-intimidating like the majority of the Western races, or even the Saxum, his strength lies mostly in the element of surprise, deft reflexes lending a superior aid to several quicker jabs on an adversary's person rather than a single, bone-shattering blow. Aesthetically, he stuck with a bronze overcoat with an iridescent sheen in the proper lighting from a fairly young age, always the stubborn one of the three brothers and preferring to be loud and boisterous in their presence, often to the point of being the one thrown from any council sessions he was privy to. When in his true form, talons and teeth are a sharp obsidian.

  Others of draconic origin tend to be highly-favored in his eyes, rendering anything else as nothing more than the dirt beneath his feet. If he were ever given his way, as unlikely as it is given his place among his siblings, he'd most-likely enlist anything non-draconic as nothing more than pack mules. Viewing humans with an extreme prejudice and exceptional loathing over their misplaced entitlement and wholly-misguided ways, its a marvel that he hasn't recently left a charred husk in his wake whenever he crossed one.

  Painfully-obvious, he makes no secret of the female sex having little importance to him other than breeding rights and utterly-mundane tasks such as drawing him a bath if he so desires, or keeping his belly sated and any clothes washed and neatly pressed.

  Superiority Complex (?)

  More-than-likely attributed to his aforementioned issue with other races, there's very-little wondering how well he takes others thinking they can give him orders, save the words that come from both his brothers, and his king and queen above them. Previously, bold adventurers thinking they could get away with it were met with a quick fist to their nose with no regard whatsoever if it resulted in something broke, or even death. Any returned blows beyond that quickly exploded into full-blown combat with arms drawn, leading to an occasional loss of limb or some other part of both men and women alike.
