• The Contract

  Nightmares are Daemons, and to bind them to this plane one must make a Contract, or binding. Bindings tend not to last long, and can be detrimental to the Summoner. Contracts are long lasting, solid, and neigh unbreakable for those beings bound to it.
  
  The Contract with which Mord has been bound is one of service. He must, and is rather happy, to fulfill nearly any request that is asked of him. The only requests that he does not have to fulfill are that made by Males, or certain interaction with Males. General compliance no matter the sex of the being rewards the bound with a certain amount of pleasure. The greater the task the more rewarding it is to the bound to comply with it.
  
  Thus is why such an evil creature can be happy to do anything asked of him as long as it is within his ability, and the bindings of his contract. Willing even. The physical plane offers pleasures that cannot be found any where else. While they might not be as grandiose as some that could be found on other planes they are different, and more various. Thus, the Nightmare is happy to serve.
  
  The Daemon Hide Collar acts as the bind of the Contract. The physical manifestation one might call it. The holder of the Contract's name will appear on the blank plate, and he will be bound to serve them.
  
  The Terms of the Contract are simple:
  
  

  He may only serve, and answer to a female Holder.
  
  He may travel the planes when not in use, or there is no need of him.
  
  He must obey all commands given to him by a female when there is no Holder present, up to a point. No killing, No self sacrifice/Suicide, No new contract can be made. Female cannot force him to bind himself to her, and must be given the Contract either willingly or by the one who currently holds it.
  
  He must protect the current Holder of the Contract when they are in danger unless this contradicts with a command.
  
  He cannot harm the Holder of the Contract through any action. Conscious or not. (IE His touch is generally hot enough to be painful, but it would simply feel warm to a contract holder)
  
  He may refuse to have any sort of physical interaction with a male be it sexual, or otherwise even if commanded by the female Holder.

• Nightmares

  
  
  The creation of a Nightmare requires a Pegasus. A ritual is preformed where the Pegasus, a beautiful and majestic creature is tortured. In the end the Pegasus's wings are cut from it's body, and then ritually sacrificed. The pain of the act turns the Pegasus insane, and eventually Evil. The soul is taken, twisted by the magic, and results in the black Nightmare.
  
  The fire that burns within, and around them is a representation of the agony they experienced during the ritual. The longer, and more painful the torture the hotter, the brighter the fire. The strongest Nightmares are made from the most exquisite pain, and the ritual can last easily for years under a truly skilled and devilish tormentor. Tancred does not know how long his lasted, nor does he remember any of his past life. He knows what he was, but nothing else.
  
  Nightmares are generally used by other Demons, and powerful magic-users as mounts to travel the various planes. In some cases they are even used as war horses for beings such as Anti-Paladins, and Half-Demons/Fiends/Devils that live on the Material plane. They are also used as protectors to their riders, especially when traveling the planes themselves, and the stretches between.
  
  Tancred has learned how to shift between bipedal, and a quadruped form. The Quadruped form was his original shape, and takes it when he must transport the Contract Holder through the planes, and deliver them safely to their destination. Though, outside of giving rides, he prefers his bipedal form and generally can be found in it.
