  • Personality: Snarky, sassy, sarcastic. Yale is very friendly and is always ready with a joke, laugh, or a smile. He has a very free, comfortable style and it's no wonder he makes such a good host. However friendly he might seem, he does tend to keep people at a distance. He's not the type to welcome closeness beyond basic friendship, and he definitely doesn't want anyone to hold him down. He's very well versed in his people's lore and he always keeps that in the back of his mind.

  • Mannerisms: Relaxed. Very, very relaxed. Yale lets most everything roll off his back. He's never one to be stuffy or stiff. If he is, something is wrong. He's most comfortable in the waves, lounging on a board. He talks with his hands and has a very expressive face. He's pretty much an open book.

  • Weaknesses: The nature of his shape change leaves behind a seal skin that he has to keep hidden from humans. If it is stolen or destroyed he loses his immortality, and can't go back to the sea and will eventually die of old age. Very bright lights hurt his eyes.
  • Strengths: Selkies see well in the dark, accustomed to dim waters. They can shed their skins once a day to walk on land (they don't have to put it back on, they can stay out of water longer than mermaids or water sprites.). However he is stronger closer to the water. He has an instinctual understand of humans, very empathic. As a male, he can answer the call of tears, which is part of their lore. When a woman's tears fall into the sea, he can track it back to the woman.
  • Limits: Mostly self imposed, he doesn't like to go far from the sea and he doesn't like to get overly involved with humans.
