    Patrick Nicholas Hex was born on June 27, 1989 to Patrick Hex Sr. and Linda Hex (Nee O'Brian) in Boston Massachusetts, the second of three boys< he grew up in a rather normal Middle Class life, though often felt he was looked over a lot being the middle child. He didn't feel as Smart as his older brother nor as creative as his younger, merely average. He realted most with his older cousin Nathaniel, who, for reasons the family kept hushed about, vanished when they were in their teens. The family rarely spoke about him. And Nicky was forced to move on with his life

    At the age of 15 Nicky's magic powers awoken, manifesting themselves in the form of ice, one day in the middle of summer, he accidentally froze a swimming pool he was in, feeling the power had come from him, he tried to practice at home whenhe was alone, slightly scared and afraid of his magic, he kept it hidden from his family, and focused on having a normal life.

    After college and lost in what to do with his life, Nicky sort of went from meaningless job and meaningless relationship, feeling it was what he was supposed to do, until one night one of his other cousins spilled the family secret while she was drunk. He learned that Nathaniel too had magic abilities, and the reasons why he left years earlier, he set out to find his cousin in The City of Nexxus. Thinking maybe he could find out more about himself and where he might belong in this world.
