  • Things to know

    1. Although manawights are primarily vacuums to Aether magic, they also respond well to other forms of magic as well. Those with magic sensitivity or ability might be drawn to her, much like a moth to a bug zapper. In addition, Kitra can be used as a power source or fuel for spells that are not associated with Aether.

    2. Kitra can be used to store magical energy. Meaning, if a magical creature anticipates a fight, they can channel a portion of their power into Kitra to save for later. If they are depleted of their own energy, they can then tap into the power stored inside of her, rejuvenating them with a second wind of power. In addition, this method can also be used for destructive purposes, igniting the store power to create an explosion of energy or using it to amplify Kitra's own powers. Kitra has no control relating to power that is stored within her.

    3. Her innate powers come from the four crystals that are embedded into her body. Her abilities are limited to the amount of energy stored within each crystal and when a crystal is fully depleted of its mana, she loses her ability to use that particular color. The crystal's mana can be restored either through the absorption of Aether, or the absorption of natural light, though the latter tends to take longer to rejuvenate.

    4. Aetherials, manawights included, gain their power from light, be it natural or artificial. They are at their strongest during daylight hours and weak during the night. Despite this, Mageborns constantly expel mana which produces artificial light that can be tapped for basic or intermediate spells. In addition, manawights also expel light but on a much smaller scale and through their crystals. If you're ever wanting to overpower an Aetherial, get them where its dark.

    5. Kitra is in possession of her own soulshard after the events transpired pertaining to her previous owner. What this means is that for the first time in years, she has the freedom to do as she wishes without any ties or magic bonding her to another. While this is rewarding in its own right, she had also been conditioned to be content with a life of servitude and as a result, is suffering from some serious culture shock. If one gains possession of her soulshard, it would result in a bond stronger than that of a typical slave and master.

    6. Kitra is by no means a damsel in distress. She has endured a traumatic four years, but it ended with her as a survivor and not a victim. If anyone has any desires to force themselves upon her or try to enslave her, expect full resistance in which includes years of martial training combined with powerful magic. I'm not saying it isn't possible to put her into these situations, it just won't be easy.

    7. Lastly, all Aetherial magic-sensitives are vulnerable to night blindness. While this can be countered through the expulsion of light from their auras, their sight is limited to the radius of said aura. In Kitra's case, possessing four ethershards gives her a radius of five feet in which she could see in darkness. Despite this, her sight is still not the best.
