Sterling is a man of few words. On the outside he can seem cold and careless, but if you manage to get under his skin, you'll see an awkward man with a heart of gold. He's a bit of a wallflower, able to move around in different kind of groups of people, but without really fitting into any of them. Some would say he's a good listener, because he doesn't say much. Others would say he's a bad listener, because it's so obvious that he doesn't care about other people's problems. He's very caring when it comes to pets and animals, he's got a lot in common with them and big respect for them. His calming aura is probably what makes the animals like him back. When in groups, he's good at taking orders, he does what he is told with no complaining.
Bio:
When he was a young teen, his father developed an addiction to alcohol. It made him a raging, violent monster every night. He was abusive to both Scott and his mother. One evening, when he was around 16, his father accidently murdered his mother. Back then he was just a skimpy, poor boy, so no matter how much he wanted to take revenge over his mother's death, he knew he couldn't. He ran away and lived on the street for a while.
The war was raging, soldiers were dying, and the military was getting desperate. Flyers and posters were building up in the streets, saying they were looking to recruit young men. Scott saw his opportunity and volunteered. He was accepted, since the military was far from picky. Here he was trained to be a soldier, and he became a good one. This was a win/win situation. Scott needed a way to channel his anger, something to focus on and generally just something to do, making him a talented soldier and a dangerous weapon in the war. It was during his time in the war, he got the nickname Sterling. The soldiers called him that, since the barrel of his gun was made from silver. They started telling tales of how the last thing their enemies saw, when they encountered Scott, was a shiny sterling silver barrel.
As the war turned more and more grim, the military's moral compass faded to dark. Scott did things he is not proud of, and saw things he just want to forget. He left without much warning, and without much begging for him to come back. The soldiers and sergeants knew better than to get in his way, so they let him go. He had no home to go back to though, and the hussle of the city just seemed to stress him out, so he decided to make the forrest his home. For a while he was close to dying from starvation, but after a while he learned the do's and dont's of living in the wilderness. Now he is fully able to provide for himself and live a selfsustaining life.
Abilities:
Gun knowledge. He's been in the military for a few years, and therefore obtained quite a bit of knowledge about weapons and how to use them.
Stealth. Something he has trained a lot in the millitary as well as when hunting.
Patience and endurance. When hunting patience is key. You also have to be able to endure different kinds of temperature. Besides his pain tolerance and endurance was pushed way up during his time in the millitary.
Tracking. Something he's learned when he lived in the forrest, purely living off of animals he had killed.
Wilderness knowledge. From trial and error, as well as getting tips from other survivalists, he knows a lot about plants, animals and terrains.
Weaknesses:
Socializing. He's not exactly a likeable person, and he don't put much effort into building bonds with people. Even though he enjoys his own company, he knows that groups of people stand stronger, compared to if they're alone. If in a dangerous situation, he would probably have the smallest chance of someone coming to his help.
Illiterate. He never really learned how to read, and if he did, it's mostly forgotten now. He recognizes short words, but can't read and understand full sentences.
PTSD. He has PTSD from being in the military, and has developed insomnia from it. He doesn't like to sleep, because the nights are always taken up by nightmares. Besides that he tries to avoid gunshots the best he can. It doesn't exactly trigger any panic, but it still affects him, as it reminds him of the horrors he has seen. For this reason, you wont seem him wielding a gun, unless it's completely necessary.
Anger management issues. If pissed of, it will take a long time for him to calm down. He'll be too angry to contain himself, probably hitting or pushing anyone or anything getting in his way.
Weapons:
Bow and arrows, and a hunting knife
Vehicles or Companions:
When living in the woods, he befriended an injured falcon. He named her Lucy, and she's been with him ever since. He taught her to scout areas for preys or dangers, and communicate back to him about what she has found. She's also able to take down smaller preys herself, keeping her a pretty selfsustained companion.
