  • A New Job and Home June 17th 2011, 6:01 pm

    And so it goes.
    
    After my meeting with the human woman (whose name escapes me at the moment, I'm afraid), I had the displeasure of breaking my tail chains... and thus, earning the unwanted attention of a woman named Ankhsehnet. Though a beautiful woman with chocolate fur and fine features, she's strict and unforgiving at times. It was to my disbelief that she purchased me as her servant. I wasn't sure how things could've gotten any worse.
    
    Then again, I wasn't thinking about the ups over the downs. Not until she led us out into the Tether's gardens. She explained to me why she'd made the purchase; she needed a servant. Not a slave. Someone to do daily tasks, from simple things like fetching letters and making deliveries to the more difficult tasks of... well, I don't really know yet. She assured me that I'll be getting my own room connected to hers, free reign to wander the Tether (within reason, of course) and a higher status than the rest of her slaves. Considering what I could've been bought for by someone else, I decided this was a pretty fair deal.
    
    So here I am, Artisan "Drawn" Elderfray, servant of Lady Ankhsehnet for as long as she requires me.
    
    I guess it won't be so bad... as long as I keep my mannerisms in check, right?
    
    Back to the cages for someone to rent me, though. I guess I can't ask for too much. Maybe someday, I'll be free again... but for now, I think I'll keep looking after myself today, in hopes that the future will be better than the now.

    The first day of interest since I've been placed inside the cages of the Golden Tether. I'd made the mistake of allowing myself to become angry over my situation, to the point that I'd ripped my necklace off and thrown it outside of the cages. Luckily, a woman whose coffee it landed it was kind enough to return it to me. Her name was Karpathia and as far as I could tell, she seemed human. We actually ended up sharing some nice conversation, though previous engagements eventually pulled her away, leaving me to myself again. I think I like her enough that, if she came by again, I'd gladly call her over for a nice chat.
