• Description

  'Tis the mid 1500s. Gunpowder firearms are becoming utilized, and the knights of old, gallantly flaunting their heraldry upon their horses, are waning. The people of the land around The Black Forest have made their living hunting and foraging, occasionally farming out in the vast clearings. As dusk sets in, A mother tends to her two children, attempting to settle them in bed. She tucks them into their straw mattress and kisses their heads, perking at the sound of a galloping horse. This is followed by the dying cry of her husband. She rushes out in horror to find a horse, snorting angrily. A figure riding it, adorned in very peculiar ,out of place, armor. In its hand was a long shafted lance bloodied, and even though the figure hefted upwards without an issue, the corpse of her husband laid stuck about halfway down. She screamed out and ran inside, slamming the door shut as she heard two large thumps against the ground. The first would be the victim, the second the rider. She braced the door. Silence. Her head dropped several beads of sweat. More silence, then the sound of hooves trotting away. She sighed, slowly opening the door to the shock of the figure standing in front of her. Her scream was cut short.
