      It has been a few months since I gave into the obvious affection I harbour for him...

      I told him how I felt, what he meant to me, what I wanted. I feared with all my soul that he would have rejected me and my heart but he admitted to be similar although not the same. His affection and love goes far beyond the humanised gestures and yet I feel far more loved by it than the conventional way. He could not promise to love me how I want him to, that's ok, to have him in my life is enough. He crawls into my bed at the end of his nightly dealings and I wake up to his sleeping form curled around me like a dragon protecting it's hoard.

      I am blessed and cursed most definitely but I care not, the curse is nothing important. I know that most would see us together, hear us together and often hear they feel sorry for me? Why? Because I love a man that cannot love me back? They are all wrong, he does love me. They don't see it, feel it touch it like I can. He is a scoundrel, a thief, a brute and a monster but he is a creature longing to belong, I am his distant shore now. His island of comfort and will be for the rest of time, I shall protect him as he will protect me.
