He was the sun
head crowned blonde with sunbeams dancing golden through his halo, hanging angel-like above him, blinding light emitted from the crevisse of his broken ribcage, phoenix fire heart fluttering between the bars, birthed from the flame of passion, pumping love and fire, heartstrings made of virtue, delicate and paper thin, fallible. He was vivacity and light and his downfall was a supernova - all-consuming and apocalyptic, and when he fell the world fell with him because the absence of him was a darkness. |

He died every night and rose again in faded starlight, prism colors blooming, flaming feathers spreading, reborn from darkness' ashes, and from his light the world rose anew. He was a light-bound colossus, skin made of molten gold monuments, the towers of Olympus balanced on his able shoulders, straining, bones crumpling under the weight of the world. He was a God but he was not infallible for human hearts were fragile things and his skin sometimes broke from the magnificence of its own soul. -S.B. |

The Valentino family has a dark and complicated history, a burden which has been laid upon the youngest, and last,of the bloodline; Frank and Faye. Frank is the 8th man in the Valentino family to carry the name Franklin Theodore, its tradition for the first born male to be names after the ancestor to who changed the family's fortune, by founding the company. Although born into a wealthy and powerful family Frank's life has never been an easy one. From the very beginning the idea of absolute perfection was instilled into him by his father -Frank Sr. Not only must he do well at everything he did, but he must be the best. When Frank did well he was the good child, the favored child; The Golden Boy. However when he faltered, broke, or failed Frank was a piece of shit, too much of his mother in him, no son of mine. It was a harsh way to live, but the need for approval drove Frank to be perfect, well to seem perfect. School was a breeze, he was popular, athletic, and intelligent. University and business school was even easier, Frank could already maintain the facade of perfection. When his father died Frank stepped into his place as head of the Valentino family, and vowed to be a better man than Frank Sr ever could have been. Can he do it? Will he be able to mend the deep scars Frank Sr, and the rest of his bloodline had inflicted? He seriously doubts this to be possible but it is not going to stop him from trying. He is willing to do whatever it takes to fix his name and the family. For he will move mountians for his mother, sister and younger cousin if need be. |
