RP Dos & Don'ts

• OOC is not IC

  • The information on this profile should be straight forward and should not be taken as your character knowing all about my character; given the obvious visual things such as height, outward appearance, etc.
  • Just keep this in mind and we'll get along fine but the moment you began 'cleverly' knowing certain precious knowledge or things that exploit weaknesses, etc, I'll warn you once OOCly. Another occurrence after that and I will just walk away and declare our scene/event as null.

  
  

  Clairvoyants:

  Let's face it, they are out there and to a degree, Rowan is one too. While I don't mind if you 'mind read' my character I, however, am respectful and will ask permission to perform such actions OOCly before just assuming it is okay; if denied then I will re-plan my character to suit the situation accordingly by working around. And to be clear, this doesn't fall under the metagaming category.
  Example; there can be some weaknesses I have listed about Rowan but he himself doesn't even know he's weak against. In layman's, you can't exactly learn everything from a mind that doesn't already know.
  
  

  NPCs:

  It is normalcy for me to bring in NPCs during RP and I encourage you to do the same if so desired! My reason(s) can vary from assisting plot progression all the way to using an NPC to simply provoke Rowan and/or your character(s) to act or react in a way that keeps the RP going strong and keeping everyone on their toes. Have to keep the flames stoked!
  If this is something you absolutely loathe for what ever the reason, just speak up and I won't do it.
  
  

  Insta-Hitters:

  While I'm not terribly strict with insta-hits, it does and will become rather bothersome eventually; principally when in the thick of a very good RP. In short, please try to refrain from using this rather annoying style of play.
  Insta-hit style of play really only applies to plots that have been premeditated by both/all parties involved. However, this has no place among those with stories you know nothing about.
  
  

  One-liners:

  If you've not enough respect to post more than one fully structured sentence then I am likely to just walk away with no explanation to you. I'm rude for doing so, you say? Sounds like a song of the coffee calling the kettle black.
  
  

  Death:

  Unless you have serious plot ties to Rowan, don't assume I'll let you kill him off so easily. I am attached to him, yes, but again unless you have some serious background with him, don't get your hopes up. I have 'Oh Shit' abilities in place just for this issue that will guarantee he walks away with his life.
  As for others (you) with disposable characters, I will still yield to OOC permission to end the life of another/your character. However, Rowan isn't exactly the murder machine the rumours lead him out to be. While he will kill, it's only through extreme provoking or obvious self-defense.

• On a scale of 1-to-10...

• Languages

  Rowan speaks Arian, a language I've made up that utilises Gaelic as a basis for now and I am making full use of Google Translate whenever he speaks. Thus translations are rough and never spot on, Irish/Celtic/Gaelic are not my first language nor my heritage.
  
  This is simply done to be as authentic and true as possible with how this character was envisioned and made.

• Arian... Aryan... Whut???

  No, the spelling I have is correct and in no way directly related to the Master Race. It is every-bit of a spinoff though, a play on words if you will. However, the concept is almost identical between the two.
  
  Ariel is a nation that wishes to be secluded from the rest of the world and couldn't be bothered with the likes of 'Yanks' or outsiders. However, trespassers/foreigners are generally forced into a life of oppression with unrealistically high dues and a 'tainted bloodline' tax. Other exceptions are merchants and traders... but they too suffer the high taxation. The last is anything but an exception; death. Should the Empire's Council deem a person or persons presence utterly unworthy, a warrant would be issued instructing any active personnel of the Arian Army to KoS, Kill on Sight.
  
  Why all the fuss over this land? Ariel was the only continent with a steady weather system that would have the occasional, and more than tolerable, hurricanes. It also had world-class soils, great for farming. But not to mention, the green-green lands and forests as far as the eye could see. The place was a utopia to outsiders.

• False Advertisement!

  "You advertise Rowan to be some god-like badass that everyone should bow down to... wtf?"
  
  Yes and no and I'm going to follow up with a perfect example.
  
  Bruce Lee and Steven Stigal (ESPECIALLY Steven) are just to name a few of some pretty deadly well known people. Most people know of their personal (non-cinema) reputation in the real world and know well of what they are capable of. But like everyone else, they too had (and have) their internal struggles that the world ither never got the chance to know or only managed to get a part (or sometimes all) of the truth.
  
  That said, Rowan is indeed revered as a badass because of the things he's been known to do has generated a reputation that makes people want to steer clear when he shows up. However, this doesn't mean you 'need' to be cautious or scared of him. I've had some great RP from people who say 'fuck it, and fuck you' straight to Rowan's face and challenged him directly.
  
  Fun fact; Rowan will only murder if ordered to or if he or someone close is threatened, however, gossip has him out to be this killing machine.
  Fun fact #2; Rowan will actually grow to respect someone that challenges him with a proper struggle or sparr regardless of the victor.
