• Biography / History

  Xiomar was born and raised in a small mixed-species settlement containing humans, elves, halfings, and a small number of dwarves. His youth was largely uneventful - largely spent playing with other children with fake 'war' games. As he aged, he found, or was rather found by the militiamen of the village, to have a knack for martial skills. He happily enlisted into the militia. His training progress quickly, and soon he was one of the most trusted with the arms and armor of the entirety of the men and women in the town.
  
  At the age of nineteen this relatively uneventful life - his village having so far only encountered the occasional bandit raid - was interrupted by news that a horrible monster was headed towards the village. They had no time to call for help from a greater, larger settlement and had no mages among their number to call for help any quicker than a courier could do. Xiomar and a number of other 'elites' among the militia stepped forward, volunteering to head out and attempt to defeat the beast that was threatening their home.
  
  They headed out, faced the beast... and were rather soudnly defeated. All but Xiomar died - Xiomar having been approached by a great entity from beyond his plane, offering to save him and help him assist his village in exchange for his 'services'.
  
  Xiomar, of course, agreed. He was healed, but his restored body was altered by the being that now marked his spirit. He raised himself from the ground, rushed towards the village and... found that he had been recovering for days. The rest of the militia had managed to drive off the beast (Though not kill it), and Xiomar felt unsure. His new appearance frightened him, and so without asking he set off and began to adventure. In part his new traveling lifestyle was to avoid any of his new patron's 'jobs' affecting those he cared about, and in part it was because he did not want anyone aroudn him to have to know of and see his 'horrid' new appearance.

• Incarnations

  Xiomar is a custom variant of a warlock using third-party D&D 3.5 rules.
  
  He has two incarnations - a Demon Pact and a Star Pact. These incarnations determine the appearance of his eyes and the limbs that were repaired/replaced by his patron.
  
  In his Demon Pact incarnation, his limbs are larger than they should by, just slightly, and are seemingly made of a tar black substance that is thick, dense, but still clearly organic. This material is almost plate or scale-like, and would be known by those with knowledge of such things to be demonic energy turned flesh. Along his altered limbs run a series of 'veins', indentations in the limbs that glow, shifting in color like a pulse. They range from near-black to bright vibrant white. His eyes in this incarnation have black sclera (normally the white part), white irides (The colored part) and normal black pupils.
  
  
  In his Star Pact incarnation, Xiomars eyes are entirely black with the view of a seemingly foreign galaxy visible within them. His 'replacement' limbs in this form are made of the psionic energy of his patron - largely shadowy, black, and 'bleeding' about, flowing and less substantial than a normal limb at first glance, with visibility down to their center with bone and tendon-equivalent lightning holding them together and connecting them to his body proper. The psionic energy is so potent and powerful that antimagic and anti-psionic fields fail to suppress them.
