It's dark out. Computers exist here. There's a little too everywhere for my liking. Spend too much time away from tech. A few lifetimes I'd guess. Hard to tell at this point. It's all about survival and getting by now.


Yesterday I was an assassin with a price on my head. Today I'm 'Joe Nobody' again.

Cloudy today. Depressing looking place. Small town. Paper peeling off buildings. Must be a bad part of town.

I could squat here for a few forevers or an hour, however long this world lasts .... or or however long I last in it.

I wonder what would have happened if I hadn't taken the easy way and had let myself die that one time? Would this jumping from place to time to reality to space ship to whatever - would it end or would dying just sped up the next jump?

Do I want to find out?

Do I not want to?

Do I want to die today?

Or live?

Or


What is living?

Am I living?

It is just existing?

Does it matter which it is?

Why am I wasting paper skipping lines so much?

I need to do something so I don't bore myself out of writing supplies. Luck is not on my side, nor Fate or Destiny or any of them. Hope is but Hope is Hope. Hope won't get me out of this mess. Good thing I ate recent enough that I still remember doing it. I'll make better time if I don't have to stop and eat. I'd go even faster if I didn't 'talk' to myself in writing.

I think I may be in another country now. Not sure. The people look different and sameish. They look alike and not like the people I saw everywhere yesterday. I can understand them so either they speak English or I can just understand whatever they speak now because - why not.

No kitty cat with me today. Seems to be a rough place. If she's alive and here she may be a stray or (some words have been scratched out so forcibly that they wore a hole in the paper).

No bag that I can see near by. I guess I need to get a new one. It looks near to 21st century earth so if I'm lucky they'll have computers and I can learn about wherever this is easier than trying to drag answers to weird questions out of random strangers.

I doubt I'll get that lucky.

Time to figure out where I am again and what I am.



Nope still can't talk.

Just got back from the white room. I think. I found some paper and something to write with. No idea what's in the bag I have with me or why my shirt has so many ruffles on it. Haven't checked a mirror yet, still a dude though. And human again or near enough far as I can tell. Still have a white cat and she still comes when I sign 'dog' so gonna say it's the same cat. She's skinny now and thankfully still a she so far. Don't need the cat to get (some words are marked out)

Anyway the meeting was boring. Dread was being himself. He started out small in a corner and got tall with the shadows as it went on. Watching him helped me get through the meeting. I don't remember if he was there the last time, maybe he was. Hope wasn't there this time, thankfully that helped.

Fate was being Fate. She was loud and took up most of the room. The details are fuzzy now. Des and Lucky were doing something I couldn't quite see it or my brain didn't want to see it, I'm not sure what that was about. I wonder if that kid is both of theirs. The kid was there too all gray and only sort of person shaped. Somebody needs to name that kid. I think that's why it looks like that, because it doesn't have a name yet.

I may have to burn this journal and get a new one if she keeps doing this.

Arrived in town about noon-ish.

Need to find some food and maybe a bed and somewhere to wash up.

Look into the job after eating and a wash.

After eating for sure. Washing may have to wait.

Cat's wonder off.

Note to self - Need to find Dog before turning in for the night.

Heading out again.

Going it alone, unless you count Dog.

She's still a pretty good little hunter even if she'd rather be hand fed instead these days.

She'll get back into traveling soon enough.

I'm heading up north where the pine trees are or maybe a bit farther.

The map I bought isn't the clearest on how high up the mountain the town is.

The letter said there is a job for me there but these things rarely work out once the people meet me. Aren't many jobs that require a person not to talk.

Not any that I'd want anyway.

Just got into town.

Replacing things that the fire took.

Been a while since I last wrote anything down like this.

Stocked up on the usual - paper, ink, pencils, food, water.

Got a new bag. This one is supposed to be waterproof.

Dog is still around. She's getting a bit fat in her old age.

They say cats are clean creatures but I wonder if they ever met one. She's rolling in the dirt as I write this.
