Always remember that the depth of a character is usually not foreseen just by reading a biography. Any assumptions you might have about this character could easily go away in a single scene, that's why it's important to allow things to open themselves up to you through roleplay. For all you know, the nature of this character is far different from what you're expecting.
Morality isn't all black and white either. I, as a player, am all about shades of grey. Every character has an up and a down, a virtue and a vice, flaws, realities, ideas, hopes, and yes, even dreams.
I make waves in the proverbial water when I roleplay. My characters are not designed to sit in the background. As the story bends them, they will bend back. Dynamic characters hold a special place in my heart. I feel that many facets should be taken into account when you're making a character, but the key is to keep the layers hidden until such a time that they are meant to be revealed. This leads to a deeper, overarching story that is enjoyable.
Think of your character as a very special friend. You experience a lot together. You're there, standing by their side, to support their decisions. You're the one who keeps them alive. The life you breathe into them when they have nothing else to live for gives them purpose. When the time comes for them to finally die, you'll remember all that they were. Every character has its time. You should love your character just as much as you love the story that they are a part of.
Every story has a beginning, and an ending.
