Jarvis is a man of the world. He has traveled far and wide, as he will continue to do until his last breath. Retired from some manner of secret criminal enterprise, he pursues a libertine lifestyle in the latter half of his life with the discipline and steely-eyed determination of a military man. He's not out to rock any boats, lest he capture the attention of his former employer. That being said, Jarvis is a nosy kind of guy with the inability to mind his own fucking business.

Formal Education: Minimal and not until early adulthood. Most of his knowledge comes from self-directed study and communing with supernatural entities.

Other Areas of Study/Interest: Jarvis has a lot of free time on long journeys, so he brings along books. He has an inclination towards texts on philosophy and history, but anything from religious texts to scientific compendiums can pique his interest. When he can, he'll read about the culture and history of his destination. He is by no means an expert on most topics, but he's knowledgeable enough to hold an interesting conversation with. He also has a pretty sweet stash of international erotica for those long journeys.

Hobbies/Pastimes: Writing judgemental things about you in his captains log. Spot-cleaning his boat. Solo chess. Also singing, treasure-hunting, and staring wistfully at the ocean.

Mannerisms: Confident, brisk and decisive. A shining example of social grace for the brief periods of time he engages with people between sailing voyages. He carries himself with excellent posture, alert and observant in a way that makes him easily mistaken for a servant on standby. (Old habits die hard.) He has a tendency to fuss over his appearance when he's idle. Everybody's mom loves him. When he becomes too stressed, he sometimes 'blanks out' and stares vacantly into the distance, unmoving, and more disturbingly, not breathing.

Vices: The only things that ease his intense personality are cannabis and fine wine. He will drink sparingly at social occasions, but never heavily intoxicates himself publicly. He also maintains a discreet, habitual use of cocaine.

Food: A humble sailor's diet elevated to fine dining through decades of experience and experiment. He basically lives off shortbread cookies, preserved fruits, and a variety of fish-based recipes while at sea. Also, lots and lots of tea, which he prepares and consumes in a ritualized manner. When ashore, he makes a point of trying the local food.
