Tylinn Ivorymane

Most kings sat upon their throne, being pampered and tended to by servants and sycophants. Rarely did they leave their castle, and even scarcer did they venture from the protective walls of their city. Tylinn ruled no such kingdom. In the northern mountains, the lions dwelt as a singular unit of warfare. No servants, no nobles – just warriors and huntresses. Comfort was thrown aside for a lifetime of fierce and brutal training, striking out into the world when needed. Was a noble profiting off slavery? Some rich merchant dealing in the suffering of others? May they enjoy their pleasures and riches, because one day maned felines might show up. And on that day, death will be brutal and lacking pity.

They respected no borders. Wherever the vile was harbored, they went. This, in turn, made the lions a distasteful breed to many in the ranks of power. Rumors proclaimed about them, called barbaric and vicious. That their king was a monster from Hell. Never was the hearsay argued against by the felines – their ill-given reputation a boon, knowing how feared they were in the hearts of the wicked. They only sought to protect the innocent, not be revered by them.

There was also some truth to those rumors. When the lions looked to kill, it was not with mercy and a quick death. Willing to torture for information, rent a bandit alive until they plead for death. Babbling long-forgotten crimes simply for the release from pain. These were not knights in shining armor – they were a force of rage.

The king himself was a mountain of a male. With a soaring height that towered over other species, the breadth of his body was greater than that of two typically-sized lions. Muzzle naturally rested into a stoic visage, growing sterner often times. In warfare, shifting into a rage that struck horror into the hearts of his foes. Primal authority made manifest.

This character is designed for Medieval, plot-driven roleplaying. The world in which inhabits is not fleshed out other than his own kingdom, leaving other locales open to insert a character's backstory.

Personality:
Not your typical 'good guy.' Justice for the lion is slaughtering those who would do others harm, not dragging them to a tribunal and then prison. Furthermore, he's cantankerous, scowls virtually all the time, and doesn't take gratitude very well. Even as a king he shuns eminence, finding other righteous warriors who do to be shoddy and more out for fame than truly moral beliefs.

Tylinn could be considered species biased. In his mind, lions should rule and others, for their own good, should follow without question.

Kingdom:
Generally described as the 'Northern Wastes' due to its extreme arctic temperatures and fierce rocky mountains which overtakes the snowy landscape. The city tucked into the highest peaks is unfailingly militaristic, the buildings all being the same square stone structures, spaced precisely apart. There are no shops, nor taverns -- just homes for the lions, and the occasional storeroom for meat and weaponry. Beyond all that is the Citadel itself, a structure carved into the very mountain peak. A fortress of unimaginable defense; though, any army would be hard pressed simply to reach such a place. A monument to the lion's natural paranoia.

The felines who live there are either described as 'hardy' or 'barbaric,' depending on who you ask. Like most other kingdoms, royalty is something you have to be born into, but any monarch who refuses to be on the front-lines of battle would be quickly usurped by a more fitting lion. Every lion is born a warrior, and every lioness a huntress. Training for both starts the moment a cub learns to walk and is sent into a rigorous regiment that often times ends in early death. While barbaric to outsiders, this practice has led the northern cats to be renowned warriors without peers. On the other hand, it also means they lack anything resembling art or trade. So focused upon one thing, and one thing only -- warfare.

Abilities:
The typical agility of a feline is severely limited due to the extreme height and bulk; yet, he is more dexterous than other species that match his vastness. What he lacks in swift movement, Tylinn more than makes up for in strength. Immensely strong, able to perform feats that almost seem impossible. Righteous fury can be channeled into an almost mindless, berserk state; sense of wounds dulled, and adrenaline pushing the lion beyond constitutional limits -- something that can quite often lead to him passing out from substantial blood loss after calming down.

Battle Style:
Tylinn is skillful with both the bastard sword and the mace -- both two-handed. In the heat of heavy battle, however, weapons are typically thrown aside to fight claw-to-claw, and tooth-to-tooth with the foe.
