  Kusa's history is a bit of a dark one, even starting from his childhood. I am going to stay brief here because I have RPed Kusa for over ten years. He's seen a lot, and done a lot. Originally raised as the son of two priests on an island in the frozen norths, Kusa would lose this home very early. On his twelfth birthday, he was sent off to another island by his parents in the night on a 'mission' to deliver a letter. This was only a ruse to get the boy off the island before a cult of dark magi attack and torched everything, killing everyone on the island and destroying the temple. On that night, the young fox looked at the flames of his burning home, and in the flames he saw six wings being spread, followed by a ball of that fire flying off and hitting him. He simply fell over then, and had become host to the soul of the seraphic entity, something he would have marked off as hallucination and shock when he woke up a week later, still alive on that beach somehow.
  
  The next part of his life consisted in his training for his revenge, strengthening himself and his natural abilities. His chance would come years later when he began tracking down the members of the cult one by one, killing them off in waves.
  
  Kusanagii was eventually caught in his little murder spree by the headmistress of the New Age Bounty Hunter Central, a school and training ground for bounty hunters as well as their operations office. The woman had taken the job to end the fox's life with money from one of the few remaining cult members, but seeing Kusanagii at work, and with a large bribe of his own, he was taken back with her to the school, and would begin working and training there. His major studies involved elemental magics and psionics, and with as many 'missions' as he went through, he would become the Head Master in his own right a few years before the NABHC would close down for good. Upon retirement, and with the stores of gold, jewels, and artifacts from his own missions, and the school itself, Kusa looked to move on as just some unknown wealthy fox.
  
  Upon retirement, as much as he'd hoped it to be, from the life of a killer, he moved off into an eastern country where he had planned to live a peaceful life. Little did he know, this would be the place the biggest twists in his life would come from. The man met his first wife here, a small ninja-wannabe feline, to which bore him his first daughter, Sanura. Things seemed normal for a good year before things started to fall apart. His past began catching up with him, others who knew of his killings coming for revenge, only to die, and eventually Midnight's own brother returned, killed her, and took his own life just as Kusanagii walked into their bedroom, seeing the whole thing. The man has sense sealed those two souls eternal in that room as a shrine of sorts.
  
  For a good long time after that, Kusanagii did nothing more than work on collecting artifacts, and building more of his own. While trying to move on, he was offered a spot on a bio-magic research plant, and joined an old friend of his on the project. It was here that he 'awakened'. Through the foolishness of another researcher, the creatures they were studying escaped and began killing and eating everyone on the island. As the head researcher, second only to his friend who had started the project, he moved to confront the head of the hive only to find his friend, and his friend's wife being killed by the monster. In their moment of collapse, the two transfered the last of their energy into two things. James into Kusanagii, passing his spark into the fox, and the woman into a golden lotus, knowing her husband lost, but wanting to end the horrors if she couldn't be with him in the afterlife. Kusanagii's awakening killed a third of the Slivers on the island instantly, demonic, holy, and mixed magical energy exploding out of him. The Overlord infront of him shielded itself then, taking only minimal damage, but that was enough for Kusanagii to take advantage of. His hand moved forward, piercing into the overlord right through that shield, his hand ripping out the 'control' organ of the thing and pressing it into himself to become the knew master of the hive mind, shutting down the Sliver's advance and moving them to another world where they were allowed to take over and populate it away from anyone he ever knew or loved.
  
  The lifetimes since then were spent skipping through the multiverse, the man learning and collecting everything he could find. Knowledge is power, and when you're an awakened being, you have all the time in the world to gain it.
