Camber grew up with her mother who was a dancer, and she had been in the profession for many years. She always loved to look at her when she rehearsed. The way she moved was like a feather, she couldn't describe it. Like magic had just entered her veins, and made her fly through the air like a balerina, even though that wasn't her ideal type of dancing. As a child, she watched her rehearse and peform over and over and over again, and she was even taken backstage sometimes, so she could watch her mother get ready for her peformances, and also meet the rest of the staff and such things. It was a good time, and she really enjoyed it. This way she was stepping foot into a whole new world that was her mother's world, but she was now a part of it, and she wanted to continue to be a part of it.
This meant that she decided to take on dancing, and who could be a better teacher than her mother? The woman who had such great talent and who she admired so much? It was a dream for her to learn how to dance, and her mother was an excellent teacher in the matter. She did not only teach her dancing itself, but also how to properly stretch before starting, correct breathing, and everything else there belonged with the act of dancing.
In the beginning her father didn't mind to much. He supported his girlfriend - yes, girlfriend, because her mother and father never got married - and supported the fact that his daughter wanted to learn this passion of her mother's, he saw it as a harmless thing, but that soon changed, because Camber was talented in school. She was smart, and she had a future ahead in science. So when she was honest about wanting to continue dancing and possibly do more than that when she became an adult, he wasn't so happy. He wanted more for her than 'just dancing', and it took a while for him to understand that she was truly passionate about this, and when her father asked which of these two things, science and dancing, she wanted to do, she answered: Both. There was no way she was going to turn her back on any of those things. Why should she if she loved them both? Eventually her father came to terms with it, and she could continue without a worry. Or so she thought...
Because there was this one girl, Angela, who were on the same age as Camber, and they were best friends, and they had promised each other that they would always be. Unfortunatly it didn't go like that. They were both happy about dancing, and they decided to form a little group of just the two of them, where they were supposed to dance together, and they indeed did, they danced mostly hip hop and street dance, Camber's favorites, but it turned from something fun that Camber looked forward to, to something she dreaded. Why, you may ask? Becuase Angela felt like she didn't get enough atention, and so she began treating Camber really bad. After what felt like too long, Camber could no longer continue, and had to refuse and step out of the group. They couldn't be in a group together because Angela wanted the whole spotlight, and if that was what she wanted, that was what she would get. Camber didn't want to be a part of this anymore.
It wasn't easy after this. She had just lost someone who she had promised to always be friends with, but...that had been a silly and childish thought, hadn't it? She hated to admit it, but it was true. There was no one saying that what had been promised was actually going to come true, and in this case, it hadn't. Not at all. Camber was left alone for a while, and she felt quite alone. Of course she had her parents she could go to whenever she needed to talk or needed a shoulder of comfort, but at the same time she felt so childish. She had done it with Angela where they had been in a group, danced, that is, but could she do it on her own? She wasn't so sure, and that was why she abandoned dancing for a little while to think about these things that she needed to sort out first before she started doing anything else.
She could remember how her mother had asked her: Do you still love dancing? Of course her answer was yes. She loved it, no doubt. Loved the adrenalin, loved moving, loved learning a new move, loved giving in to the music and just let it take over her entire body. So her mother told her to keep going, if she really did love it, or else she would probably regret it later on. Her mother also told her that if she had never started her dancing career, she would have regret it for the rest of her life. This made Camber decide to continue dancing, even if she had to do it alone. She was a good dancer, and could only improve, she wanted to improve, but there was no way she could do that if she was just going to sit around and do nothing, and she would never be truly happy if she didn't at least try. She felt so lucky to have her mother in her life, because she was the woman who gave her true inspiration and the drive to keep going.
Not only were her parents a huge support for her, she was also communicating online with another girl at her own age, and she was the one to save her, in a way, since she had just lost who she had thought was her best friend, but she was slowly and surely gaining a new best friend. Their dynamic was fantastic, and she was happy when she spoke to her. There was something about the other that made her relax and just enjoy herself, she trusted her, and even sent her some videos of her rehearsing choreo since she was interested in seeing her dance, and it involved into a great friendship when she finally decided to come over, and meet Camber in person. Over time they decided to move in together and become roomies, and it really helped Camber move forward in life. No longer was there a part missing. No longer did she feel alone. There was someone who cared for her as a friend, and who supported her, also her dancing.
After this life just went forward for the young woman, who became an adult, and took matters into her own hands. She had grown a lot in a short period of time, not only in her personality, but also in her science and dancing, and she was overall a very happy person. She felt lucky to have such supportive parents, even if her father had been hesitant about things to begin with. She could understand why. Dancing wasn't a stable career, but she loved it, and it wasn't like she wasn't good at it, actually it was the opposite. Camber was very good. She learned choreos fast, and then they were just stuck in her head, not able to be removed again. It was like it was in her blood right from the beginning. Her way of moving was very smooth and precise, and she knew when to turn it powerful, and when to slow it down a notch and move slower and more gentle. Hip hop and street dance had always been her favorite dances to do, but once in a while she would adventure into a new type of dancing, to explore what it had to offer. All in all, over the years, Camber has grown a lot in many ways, and her dancing has only improved, and it continues to be a passion of her's to this very day.
