Medium-Heavy Roleplayer from the Eastern Timezone (EST). In MMO roleplay, I generally RP in public channels (/say with flat say for emotes and quoted say for speaking), but also sometimes use /whisper for certain narrative elements. I can to switch to RPing in /party for the comfort of others. I prefer either predetermined combat RP, or using some form of dice-based contested combat RP; I do frequently take player level into consideration for combat unless there is discussion before-hand. I have D&D type stats for this character, that can be used in play if so desired.
When it comes to RP Romance - I am very wary of RP romance, do to bad experiences with overly-clingy and outright stalkerish people in the past. In RL, I am in a devoted polyfidelitous relationship, and people often don't respect that, or think they can just barge in and join the relationship - and it doesn't work that way. However, if someone can be respectful of those boundaries and my real life partners, and it makes sense for the character progression, I am not adverse to character romance. There absolutely must be a high amount of OOC communication, however, so keep that in mind.
There must be a clear separation of IC and OOC at all times. This is very important. This character is not a character who expresses herself well, and often may come across as cold, and may outright be blunt and it might not be taken very well by another person. This does not mean that I as a player dislike you as a player, or feel coldly towards you as a player. She may actually even end up ripping someone a new orifice, and again, this does not me that I as a player hate you, the player of that character. I am all about IC and OOC separation and do not use my character as a proxy for my feelings towards someone.
Personal RP Limits:
■ Do: I'm perfectly okay with the darker themed plots, with violence, with gore, with some themes that may not be acceptable to other players or their characters. Be communicative about your ideas beforehand if they aren't mainstream or if they're dark, as there are others who are affected by my roleplay and need to be made aware of what is happening - and there are certain limitations on how dark things can get, even for me.
■ Ask: Disfigurement, dismemberment, or other kinds of mutilation. Permanent scarring or symbols without prior approval. Torture with lasting, long-term effects (longer than 3 months). Longer term and/or permanent injury. Longer-term captivity or imprisonment. Tampering of the mind that results in major changes or significant memory or personality changes. Dramatic character changes, or extremely negative impacts on my character without prior discussion. Some of these may be on the table with extensive prior discussion, if your idea is well-thought out.
■ Don't: Permanent character death. Permanently maiming, crippling of my character that completely prevents her from living independently without extensive prior discussion. RP a clingy "hanger-on" type that must be around Akira constantly, whether romantically or platonically. RP strictly for the chance to trigger romance. RP for a chance at 3D artwork. -

Appearance details:With a stance that speaks of confidence, she stands taller than most of the Human guards and vigilantes that protect Olvia, Velia, and Heidel, challenging even some of the shorter Giants who slouch too much; this is helped by the fact that Clairos has developed very good posture, which is the source of her stance in the first place.
She keeps her hair cut extremely short, in almost a boyish style that skirts the line of being a pixie cut, maintaining that long hair in combat is just a detriment, despite requests to try growing it out. It seems to be made from a mixture of extremely pale pink and light blonde strands, though the ends of all of them appear to turn to the pale blonde colour; when asked about the oddity, she refuses to speak on it, citing it to be just some sort of freakish trait of her being that she doesn't understand herself.
Through intense daily physical training, she keeps her physical form fit and trim. Lacking much in feminine curves, combined with her insistence to keep her hair short, Clairos has the physique and look that most consider tomboyish, which she doesn't seem to mind. Dressing in mostly pants and tunics when not clad in scale armour, she almost seems to prefer it that way, simply feeding into the stereotype others pin on her.
Clairos does prefer simple leather and cloth over other extravagant clothing, often blending in with the stable hands or the hunters of Serendia until she dons armour - even then, she wears only the most basic amount of protection, opting for flexibility and evasion rather than a sheer defensive bulwark of gear to protect her. Scale armour over her leathers is preferred to full plate-maille, and smaller shields - if any shield at all - are the normative for this swordmaiden. -
Personality: Initially, it would strike most that Clairos dislikes everyone, as she doesn't seem to initiate interactions with people unless necessity requires it, and even then, there is a distance to her; she remains aloof, professional, and cold.
She doesn't seem to display much in the way of emotion, and even her voice seems to lack tonal inflections. When in situations where she has to be in a large group of people, such as a some place like a tavern, Clairos will find a place where she can place her back to the wall, and have her eyes on all the entrances and exists, and simple watch the crowd while taking care of her business, speaking as little as she possibly can.
However,should someone anger here, Elion or whatever Gods they believe in save them, as her wrath is deadly and explosive. The indifferent and cold exterior vanishes, replaced by a passion that could send even the most frightening of terrors fleeing from her presence; most expect to be struck down immediately upon sparking her venomance, while others simple flee only to find themselves knocked down to the ground and then towered over, forced into receiving her scathing deliverance of some sort of unholy lecture before she does either elects to use her martial skill upon them, or let them finally flee.
Religious beliefs/philosophy: It is largely assumed that Clairos is a follower of Elion, given her vast knowledge of the religion, however most who understand the deeper meanings of the Church realise that she knows more than a commoner should...and seems to lack the faith and vigor of the clergy, let alone the vestments or the trappings of a Valkyrie.

Childhood: Lord and Lady Nascimbene had desired a son as their firstborn child, as most nobility usually does, due to the desire for a solid line of succession and a what's generally perceived as a strong head of household by many, particularly the commoners. However, not only did Lady Nascimbene have a rough pregnancy, the child - despite the revelations of forbidden magics - was female; she was healthy and unharmed, despite the Lady's ill health and problems during the pregnancy, and that was considered a blessing.
Having expected a son, the Lord and Lady were at a loss for a name for a girl, until their steward suggested making an alteration to their first choice of "Clarus", rounding it out to be more feminine, yet keeping aspects of the original name as a nod to the child's current position, and their original desire for a son - so she was named "Clairos". Something more unique than the more common Serendian "Claire" but more feminine than "Clarus".
The Lady took to calling the girl "Iros" out of affection, when she bothered with the child at all; like most noble children, during the first handful of years of her life, Clairos was tended to by a nursemaid, a woman who took care of all the messy problems like breast feeding and changing diapers and keeping the child distracted while her parents attended to more important social and economic matters, given the Nascimbene House was both noble and mercantile. It was only when she was clean, quiet, and when the Lady was well-rested and without duties that Clairos was ever tended to by her mother, and then it was only cuddling and coddling.
As the girl grew to be a toddler, she came to resent this treatment, especially after she was lectured by her mother for electing to find her nursemaid to be more motherly than the Lady was; despite the fact that Clairos was not even yet four, the Lady found that she no longer required a nursemaid, and from then on she was tended to by a mute handmaid and her first set of academic tutors.
For all her trying, the Lady's attempts to isolate the girl and force her to acknowledge only her as a matronly influence failed; the mute woman who was hired as her handmaiden could speak, after a fashion, through her hands, and though it took a great deal of patience and effort, she taught Clairos how to use the fingerspeak language that was reserved for Calpheon's handicap and miscreant population - what she knew of it at least. Quite a bit of it was improvised, as once she began to secure positions as a nanny and handmaid to merchant and noble houses, she spent less and less time in the Rookery.
It was through the mute maid that Clairos learned of what happened to her nursemaid - the Lady's displeasure lead to accusations of witchcraft and sorcery, and Lord Nascimbene was forced to surrender the woman to the Elion Church. With the magnitude of the claims against her from a member of the nobility, the woman was excommunicated and executed as a heretic.
Although she was still quite young when she learned of what happened to the woman she considered to be her mother, Clairos understood the basics of the situation - jealousy, deception, the use of the church as a proxy, betrayal. It all hardened her even more to her parents, who now spent even less time with her as she was no longer a baby, no longer a toddler, and now approaching the age when she would be sent away for schooling.
Perhaps because of this, the child favoured her father, even though she did not see him frequently; much to his delight, she favoured many things a boy would - academics, trade, history, swordplay. The Lord showered his daughter with gifts of worn tomes, antiquities, tunics and hose and boots, and her first martial tutor...much to his Lady's distress; she tried her best to convince Clairos to wear fluffy dresses and focus on things like fancy sewing, knitting, and needlework, but the young girl wanted little of it - though she found some sewing worthwhile to fix her clothing after ripping it up during practice and play.
The young girl was in for another surprise, however.
Like most noble children, the girl was largely a pawn of her parents in their brokerage for more power, and in their personal arguments. As her mother was attempting to place her in a prestigious, all-girls school that would require her to become a "proper noble lady", her father sealed the arrangements for Clairos to be sent to the Holy College before the Lady finished her move.
Lady Nascimbene was furious with the fact her husband out maneuvered her, however the prestige the Holy College and the Valkyries brought to the family was enough for her to give forgiveness to the Lord's encouragement of his daughter's "impractical mannerisms" - at least he was putting them to good use, she began to state in the days leading up to her child's farwell.
Clairos was torn on her situation; she recalled that it was the Church of Elion that had executed her beloved maid, even though her mother had lied to them about everything. And yet it was an opportunity to learn from some of the best combat instructors and academic teachers in all of Calpheon - and perhaps all of the world; her current tutors, the household clergy, her parents, and the local clergy all spoke as though far away places such as Serendia, Mediah, and Valencia were all beneath the glory of the Holy College.
And so the young girl parted from her family, even as the news of her mother's new pregnancy was being announced and circulated throughout the nobility - suddenly, the Nascimbene House was the talk of Calpheon briefly as one daughter became a novice Valkyrie while the other would soon enter the hell that was the nobility of Calpheon.

Stuff You Can't Possibly Know (But I Want You To Know OOCly): Clairos is no longer a member of the Valkyries proper; during one of her patrols, she ended up fighting one of the strangers who have been cursed with a dark spirit, and the experience was highly traumatic, as the Sorceress was quite far into feeding the spirit power. When all was said and done, Clairos questioned everything she had ever been told of the Elion religion, and what the priests intended for the Valkyries, and her vibrant red hair had faded away.
Rather than return to her place within the Elion Church, she stabilised the Sorceress (at least, as far as she's aware), and fled for Velia with the intent on planning her next move. -
