buðlungra || Jorúnnr is, in many ways, the spitting image of her father with her light complexion, pale gray eyes and ginger colored hair. Her mouth is a bit too wide and her nose is a bit too long, giving her face a certain awkwardness that is weighted out by the general shape of her face. She cuts quite a figure with broad shoulders, strong arms and legs. Being physically weak was never an option for her, and she is capable of pulling her own weight. Her body is covered in different kind of tattoos, representing everything from her kyn's heritage to successful hunts, as well as a few protective charms. To some extend she does have not only her own life story but also her kyn's story on her body. As a contrast to her many tattoos, she also bears many scars. Most noteworthy is the one across her face starting from the right side of her forehead and running down to the left corner of her mouth. She is missing two toes on her right foot and three on her left, victims of serious frostbites. Like everybody else in Niðheimr, her ginger colored hair is usually braided in elaborate manners with different kind of beads, symbolizing her rank and current social status in society. dróttning || As queen, Jorúnnr’s appearance has changed somewhat. The sides and back of her head are completely shaved, making room for a new tattoo that starts at the base of her neck and crawls up and around her head, symbolizing a crown. What is left of her hair is still being braided in an elaborate fashion. Most noteworthy now is a scar on the left side of her face, starting from the corner of her mouth and ending around her ear. The scar itself is deep and twists her face, tight skin pulling it almost too much to the left. She may have been average of looks once but now she is considered borderline ugly by most foreigners. |
Jorúnnr is an intelligent young lady. She has ambitions and dreams she wants accomplished, one way or the other. She wishes to succeed in her endeavors, in bringing change to her kingdom and people despite being told it won’t be possible or something she can accomplish. She has always been somewhat reserved and not particularly good at making friends with other people. In a way she prefers to keep them at a respectable distance. She does not lack social skills but due to past experience has become guarded about herself and her ideals. While she doesn’t mind people challenges her believes, she doesn’t tolerate needless prodding and criticism simply for the sake of saying something without substance. She is well liked by the people around her, though she likes very few of them in return. In her eyes too many people in one’s life usually leads to complications. She is very clearly a woman of the North - strong, stubborn and independent, but also petty, impatient and, at times, overcritical of others. As time has gone by, she has started to struggle more and more with honoring the traditions and values she grew up with. She knows she belongs in the North, but a part of her wants to see what the rest of the world has to offer. She tries to stay open-minded and listen to foreigners and their ways, hoping to learn something from them. She wants her people to prosper, and she knows that one way or the other, their well-being will one day become her responsibility. She wants to leave a lasting impression in the cold and unyielding north and its people. Mostly, Jorúnnr is afraid she will end up being like her mother. During her early adult years, it was hard to ignore how similar the two of them were deep down. It is something that makes her fear, and while she can respect her mother for her political savvy and quick wit, she is not a kind woman. |
