  In the dark and frozen woods...

  
  

  On a stormy night, long ago, a bitter wind whipped through the trees, rattling their skeletal frames. A young woman ran, her hair matted to her face by sweat. Her wrists were bloody, each one adorned with the remains of broken rope.
  
  Behind her, a dozen men pursued. At their head was a man in a mask made of bones. His body was smeared red with the blood of four sacrificial lambs and his eyes were wide and rabid behind the arcane mask.
  
  "After her!" The man screamed. The woman was crying as she ran, it was pitch black that night with no trace of the moon. She fell several times, only just barely picking herself up. Her would be assailants were only a hair's breadth behind, the silhouette of sharpened daggers clenched in brown fists.
  
  The strange woman cried out in pain as her foot caught in a gnarled tree root. With a tremendous crash, she fell forward, her forehead slamming against wood. Rough hands lifted her up, high above the ground. Voices rose chanting, a cry of triumph rising as one from the men.
  
  Her name was Calliope and she was a slave. She had been selected to water the stones of the god Ares' temple with her blood in order to beg for favors in an ongoing war. The slave had escaped, resulting in a chase by the priest and eleven of the village's strongest men.
  
  Laying with her back against the cold stone altar, Calliope lay naked, bound and gagged to prevent her from screaming. Feverish tears were squeezed from her eyes and she tried to make a sound, to plead for her life. Soliciting the only deity she knew, Calliope prayed to Selene, the goddess of the moon to save her.
  
  The ground rumbled, the packed earth beneath the altar of Ares splitting in half. The slave fell through, tumbling down into what seemed like an underground burial chamber. The dozen men who were still on the surface lay dead, each of their throats slashed in an arc that resembled the crescent moon...

  
  
  
  
  

  Selene

  
  

  Our story continues further on nearly a hundred years after a mysterious slave was saved by the goddess, Selene. Mount Olympus, home of the gods, was falling apart. The continuous disbelief in the old ways had weakened what the glorious helm of the gods was built on... Hope.
  
  Vulnerable to attack and weakened, several of the gods were captured and imprisoned in Tartarus by the Titans, former rulers of the world. A few of the deities managed to escape, hiding from the Titans in mortal shells.
  
  Selene, goddess of the moon and sister to Artemis was one of the lucky ones. Having heard the prayer of an unfortunate mortal girl, she took her opportunity and saved her, claiming a part of her body as payment. Because Selene was one of the immortals, her powers kept the girl alive for thousands of years. The two wandered through the ages, each with fragments of the other's mind.
  
  Calliope had gained immortality and powers she didn't understand while Selene had gained mortality and the memories of the girl whose body she shared.

  
  
  
  

  Abilities:

  
  
  ∆ Calliope is a healer. Having the collective memories of Selene, she can heal any wound, provided it does not interfere with the working of the fates i.e saving someone who is destined to die.
  
  ∆ She can shape shift into a werewolf. While Calliope isn't a true blood wolf, she can morph into one when the need arises without the influence of the moon.
  
  ∆ Calliope has an affinity for all werewolves. They can hear slightly inside her mind and she can do the same.
  
  Note: Abilities are subject to change and research. So technically, everything in the list above is a WIP.
  
  
  
  Present:
  While Selene is still hiding from the titans, she moves from city to city. She is a part time nurse, owner of a Husky named Andromeda and college student.
  
  
  
  Final note: Please do not be afraid to PM me. Callie is highly adaptable to nearly every genre. I'd be happy to roleplay her against other gods, vampires, werewolves or even humans.
  
  I'm especially keen on someone roleplaying the god Ares against her since she was originally a sacrifice to him. Most of Callie's profile is based off Greek Myths I reimagined, which means of you see something that isn't 100% accurate, bear with me.
